Royal parks and museums, covered door to door
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea holds some of London's grandest addresses alongside its most colourful markets. Kensington Palace, the birthplace and childhood home of Queen Victoria, sits within Kensington Gardens. South Kensington's "Albertopolis" holds three of the world's great museums — the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum and the V&A — within a few hundred metres of each other. Notting Hill's Portobello Road runs one of the world's largest antiques markets on Saturdays, and every August the borough hosts Notting Hill Carnival, Europe's largest street festival.
Chelsea, to the south, keeps its own character along the King's Road, with the Chelsea Physic Garden and the Royal Hospital Chelsea — home to the Chelsea Pensioners and the Chelsea Flower Show.
