Lewisham spans a genuinely varied stretch of South East London — Blackheath's open heath and Georgian streets border Greenwich Park at one edge; Deptford's historic Royal Dockyard, now a creative and market quarter, sits closer to the river; Catford anchors the borough's town centre; and Forest Hill, with its hilltop views and the Horniman Museum, sits toward the south.
