Ealing earned its "Queen of the Suburbs" nickname over a century ago for its wide streets and green squares, and it's kept that character while adding real cultural weight: Ealing Studios is recognised as the oldest continuously working film studio complex in the world, still in active production. Ealing Broadway anchors the borough as a major shopping and transport hub — Elizabeth line, District line, Central line and National Rail all converge here. Southall, to the west, is one of London's most vibrant South Asian communities, famous for its market and food scene.
