Why aviation transport is different

Aviation logistics is not simply courier work with aircraft parts in the back. The operating environment imposes constraints that most transport providers never encounter.

The clock is set externallyDeadlines come from departure times, slot allocations and crew duty limits — not from a depot cut-off that can be missed and caught tomorrow
Operations never stopNight checks, early departures, diversions at 3 AM. A service that closes at 6 PM is no service at all
Sites are controlledCargo terminals, hangars and engineering facilities have access rules, security boundaries and specific handover points
Paperwork travels with the partRelease certificates and technical records must arrive intact alongside the component
Parts are often irreplaceableFrequently the only serviceable unit available — losing or damaging it does not just delay the job, it restarts it
The cost of delay is disproportionateA small box can be the only thing between a grounded aircraft and a full schedule

This is why aviation buyers rarely use parcel networks for critical movements. It is not about speed alone — it is about certainty, visibility and being able to reach a person at 4 AM who can commit a vehicle.

Who we support

CustomerWhat we typically move
AirlinesAOG spares to line maintenance, parts between stations, technical records, tooling for scheduled work
MROsComponents inbound for overhaul, serviceable units outbound, tooling and consumables between facilities
FBOsParts and equipment supporting business aviation departures, often at short notice and out of hours
Business aviation operatorsComponents for private and corporate fleets working to fixed, high-value schedules
Aircraft engineering teamsParts, specialist tooling and ground equipment delivered to where the engineer is working
Parts suppliers & distributorsUrgent stock movements out to customers, exchange units in both directions
Freight forwardersAirport collections, cut-off recoveries and missed-connection freight
Ground handling agentsUrgent movements between terminals, sheds and facilities

The aviation work we do

ServiceWhen it applies
AOG courierAn aircraft is grounded and a part must reach it immediately
Aircraft parts deliveryMoving spares, avionics, wheels, brakes, engines, tooling and documentation
Heathrow cargo collectionImport spares released at a cargo terminal, needing onward delivery
Airport-to-airport transfersMoving a part between airfields by road when flying it is slower or impractical
MRO shuttlesUnserviceable units to overhaul facilities and serviceable units back
Planned maintenance supportParts and tooling positioned ahead of a scheduled check
Technical documentationRelease certificates, records and paperwork against a deadline
Tooling and ground equipmentSpecialist and calibrated tooling moved between bases

Sites we collect from and deliver to

Parts suppliers & distributorsAviation stockists, OEM suppliers and exchange pools
Warehouses & distribution centresCentral stores and spares holdings
Cargo terminalsAirport cargo centres and handling agents, once freight is released
Engineering facilitiesComponent workshops, avionics benches and overhaul shops
Maintenance bases & MROsLine and base maintenance facilities, hangars
FBOsBusiness aviation terminals and operations desks
ManufacturersProduction sites and factory stores
Other airfieldsRegional airports and general aviation sites

On cargo terminal collections: most delays there are documentary rather than physical. Freight cannot be released until the air waybill, customs clearance and the handling agent's release note are all in place. We would rather confirm that before dispatching than send a vehicle to wait — it saves you time and waiting charges alike.

Being straight about access: we deliver to the airport, hangar, FBO, cargo terminal or engineering facility and hand the consignment to your nominated contact. Where a movement requires access beyond a security boundary, that is arranged through your operator or handling agent — tell dispatch at booking so the handover is planned rather than improvised at a gate.

Emergency and planned work

Not every aviation movement is a crisis, and it helps to be clear about which service you need.

Emergency / AOGPlanned aviation work

Both use the same underlying model — a dedicated vehicle, direct routing, no consolidation. The difference is how quickly the vehicle leaves and how the job is planned.

Frequently asked questions

What is an aviation courier?

A courier service built around the way aviation actually works: 24-hour operations, parts that stop an aircraft flying, sites with controlled access, and deadlines set by departure times rather than office hours. Consignments travel in a dedicated vehicle direct to the aircraft, hangar, FBO or facility.

Do you only handle AOG emergencies?

No. AOG work is the most urgent end of what we do, but a lot of aviation transport is planned: parts moving to a scheduled check, tooling positioned before a task, unserviceable units going to an MRO for overhaul, or stock moving between bases. We handle both. For a grounded aircraft, see our AOG courier page.

Which airports do you serve?

Heathrow, Luton, Stansted, London City, Farnborough, Biggin Hill, Oxford and Cambridge regularly, plus airfields, MROs, engineering facilities and parts suppliers UK-wide.

Do you have airside access?

We do not advertise airside access. We deliver to the airport, hangar, FBO, cargo terminal or engineering facility and hand the consignment to your nominated contact. If a movement needs to pass a security boundary, that is arranged through your operator or handling agent, so tell us at booking.

Can you support business aviation and FBOs?

Yes. Business aviation runs to tight, high-value schedules where a departure can hinge on a single component. We work with FBOs and operators at Farnborough, Biggin Hill, Luton and elsewhere, including out-of-hours movements before early departures.

Will my consignment be consolidated with other freight?

No. Every job is a dedicated vehicle carrying your consignment alone, driven directly from collection to delivery with no depot handling and no multi-drop route.

Can you carry dangerous goods?

Aviation consignments often include classified items such as lithium batteries, oxygen generators, aerosols and compressed gases. Declare them when you call and we will confirm the arrangements for carriage case by case before dispatching a vehicle.

Do you work with regular contracts?

Yes. Where aviation movements are frequent, standing arrangements and invoice accounts can be set up. Speak to dispatch about your typical lanes, sites and volumes.
