From a single avionics box to wheel and brake assemblies, engine components and specialist tooling — carried in a dedicated vehicle, in the packaging your stores supplied, direct to the aircraft or facility. Nothing is unpacked, consolidated or sorted along the way.
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Aircraft spare parts | Rotables, line-replaceable units, structural components, cabin and interior parts |
| Avionics | Flight deck and navigation units, control boxes, sensitive electronic assemblies |
| Tyres & wheels | Main and nose gear wheel assemblies, tyres |
| Brakes | Brake units and associated components |
| Engines & engine parts | Components, modules and accessories, subject to size and lifting arrangements |
| Tools | Specialist and calibrated tooling, torque equipment |
| Maintenance equipment | Ground support equipment, jigs, fixtures and test equipment |
| Consumables | Seals, fasteners, filters, fluids and workshop supplies |
| Technical documentation | Release certificates, technical records and accompanying paperwork |
Different parts fail in different ways. The handling requirement is rarely just "be careful".
| Part type | The real risk | How we handle it |
|---|---|---|
| Avionics & LRUs | Static discharge and shock damage; a unit can be damaged without any visible sign | Left in the anti-static and protective packaging supplied by your stores, carried in the orientation specified, secured against movement. We do not unpack or repack |
| Wheels & tyres | Weight and awkward shape; a loading problem rather than a fragility problem | Vehicle matched to the weight, with tail-lift arranged at booking where needed; secured to prevent rolling in transit |
| Brake units | Heavy, and surfaces that must not be contaminated | Kept in supplied packaging, loaded so surfaces are protected and the unit cannot shift |
| Engine components | Size, weight and lifting requirements at both ends | Loading and unloading arrangements confirmed before dispatch, so nothing arrives that cannot be moved off the vehicle |
| Calibrated tooling | Calibration can be invalidated by impact | Carried in supplied cases, secured, and kept away from heavy items |
| Ground equipment | Bulk and stability | Vehicle sized to the item; restraint appropriate to the load |
| Consumables & fluids | Some are classified as dangerous goods | Declared at booking and carriage confirmed case by case — see below |
| Documentation | Separation from the part it certifies | Travels with the consignment in the same vehicle, so it cannot be split off in sortation |
An honest note on packaging. The protection that matters most is the packaging your stores or supplier applied — anti-static bags, foam inserts, dedicated shipping containers. Our job is to keep it intact, secure it properly and not interfere with it. If a part arrives at collection inadequately packed for road transport, we will tell you rather than load it and hope.
This matters more than it might appear. A lithium battery inside an LRU, or an oxygen generator in a cabin part, is easy to overlook when the paperwork simply names the assembly. If in doubt, mention it — a thirty-second conversation at booking prevents a failed collection.
| Release certificates | Carried with the part they certify |
|---|---|
| Technical records | Transported alongside the component |
| Delivery documentation | Signed at handover and returned to you as proof of delivery |
| Cargo release paperwork | Checked before collection at cargo terminals, so the vehicle is not sent to wait |
| Why it stays together | Because your part travels alone in a dedicated vehicle, paperwork cannot be separated from it in a sorting process |
A part without its certification is, for practical purposes, unusable — an engineer cannot fit it and sign the aircraft back into service. Keeping documents physically with the component is one of the quieter advantages of dedicated transport over a network.
| Vehicle | Typically suited to |
|---|---|
| Car / small van | Documents, avionics units, small boxed components |
| Medium van | Palletised spares, wheels and brakes, multiple boxes |
| Long wheelbase van | Longer components and larger assemblies |
| Luton / tail-lift | Heavy or awkward items requiring mechanical loading — confirm lifting arrangements at both ends when booking |
The question that saves the most time: how is the part being loaded and unloaded at each end? A component that needs a forklift at collection and has none at delivery is a problem best discovered at booking, not on arrival. Tell dispatch what lifting equipment is available at both sites.

Rotables and line-replaceable units, avionics, wheels and tyres, brake units, engine components and modules, structural and cabin parts, specialist tooling, ground support equipment, consumables and the technical documentation that accompanies them. Tell dispatch the dimensions, weight and any handling requirement and the right vehicle is assigned.
Avionics stay in the protective and anti-static packaging supplied by your stores or supplier, and are carried in the orientation you specify. We do not unpack or repack components. If an item needs particular handling, tell us at booking so the driver is briefed before collection.
Yes. Wheel and brake assemblies are heavy and awkward rather than fragile, so the practical question is loading. Give dispatch the weight and whether a tail-lift is needed and the right vehicle is sent first time.
Engine parts, modules and accessories can be moved subject to size, weight and lifting arrangements at both ends. Larger items need confirmation of how they will be loaded and unloaded, so give dispatch the dimensions, weight and available lifting equipment when you call.
Aircraft parts frequently include classified items such as lithium batteries, oxygen generators, chemical oxygen systems, aerosols, flammable adhesives and compressed gases. Declare them when you call and we will confirm the arrangements for carriage case by case before dispatching a vehicle.
Yes. Release certificates, technical records and delivery documentation are carried with the consignment. Because your part travels alone in a dedicated vehicle, paperwork cannot be separated from it in a sortation process.
No. Every job is a dedicated vehicle carrying your consignment alone, driven directly from collection to delivery with no depot handling and no multi-drop route.
Collection address and contact, delivery address and contact, part dimensions and weight, whether it is dangerous goods, any handling or loading requirements, and the deadline. With that we can give a fixed price and a realistic timing on the first call.
