Arriving at Heathrow: how the meet & greet works

Taxi or train to Heathrow?
The Elizabeth line runs from central London to Heathrow in 30–45 minutes and the Heathrow Express from Paddington in about 15 minutes; the Piccadilly line takes around an hour. They are good value for one person with light bags. For two or more people, early or late flights, or heavy luggage, a fixed-price car door to door usually works out simpler and often cheaper per head.

Uber and other ride apps at Heathrow
Ride apps are not allowed to pick up from the terminal forecourts. You walk to the Terminal Parking car park for your terminal: at Terminal 5 it is Floor 1, Row R of the T5 car park, and at Terminal 3 it is Level 1 of the car park, over the skybridge. The T4 multi-storey closed in June 2026, so Terminal 4 pickups now use the Priority Pick-Up Zone or Park & Ride Zone A. Fares vary with demand; Uber's own sample prices to central London run from about £55 to £97 depending on car type.
Taxi or public transport: which is cheaper?
For one person with a small bag, the Piccadilly line or Elizabeth line is far cheaper. For three or four people, four Elizabeth line fares already come to £62, and four Heathrow Express walk-up fares to £104, before you add taxis at the other end. A fixed-price car for the whole group is then often similar in cost and takes you to the door.
Reaching the main London stations
- Euston: Elizabeth line to Tottenham Court Road, then the Northern line (Charing Cross branch) two stops north. Allow about 45–50 minutes.
- King's Cross St Pancras: the Piccadilly line goes direct in about an hour, or take the Elizabeth line to Farringdon and change for one stop.
- London Bridge: Elizabeth line to Farringdon, then Thameslink direct to London Bridge.
- Waterloo: Elizabeth line to Bond Street, then the Jubilee line, or Heathrow Express to Paddington and the Bakerloo line direct.
- Cambridge: National Express runs direct coaches from Terminals 2, 3 and 5 (from about 2 hr 15 min), or take the Elizabeth line to Farringdon and a direct Thameslink train.
