Co-op Live: the country's biggest indoor arena, 250 miles away
Co-op Live holds more people than any indoor venue in Britain, and it sits on the Etihad Campus in east Manchester. From Kent that is roughly two hundred and fifty miles, which makes this a trip to plan rather than a journey to book.

Making a northern arena trip work
Be honest about the day return
Ten to eleven hours in a vehicle around a three-hour show is a long day by anyone's standard. Plenty of groups do it once. For a Saturday show, travelling up in the afternoon, staying over and coming back on the Sunday costs a room and transforms the trip.
Getting off the campus is the slow part
The Etihad Campus is built to move a football crowd, which it does well, and it still takes time. Twenty-three thousand people leaving an arena at the same moment as the car parks empty means the roads immediately around the site are the wrong place to be sitting. We hold beyond them and you walk out.
Consider the train seriously
For two or three people travelling light, a train to Manchester Piccadilly and a short local run to the campus is frequently cheaper and always quicker than a coach from Kent. We would rather point that out than sell you the longer job. Where we add value is groups, luggage and the local legs.

Co-op Live is on the Etihad Campus in east Manchester. The AO Arena is in the city centre above Victoria station. They are entirely different locations with different access, so check your ticket before booking anything.

How far is Co-op Live from Kent?
Around two hundred and forty to two hundred and eighty miles depending on where you start, which is four and a half to six and a half hours each way including the rest breaks a journey of this length legally requires.
Should we stay over?
For most groups, yes. A day return means ten to eleven hours in a vehicle around the show. Staying over costs a room and removes the worst part of the trip.
Is Co-op Live the same as the AO Arena?
No. Co-op Live is on the Etihad Campus in east Manchester. The AO Arena is in the city centre above Victoria station. Different locations, different access, different collection points.
Would the train be cheaper?
For two or three people travelling light, often yes, and we will say so. A train to Piccadilly plus a local run to the campus is quicker. Where a coach wins is groups, luggage and keeping everyone together.
Where do you collect after a show?
Beyond the campus traffic management, on a road that is actually flowing. Twenty-three thousand people and emptying car parks make the immediate roads a bad place to wait.
Can you take a full coach?
Yes, up to forty-nine seats, with multiple vehicles run as one booking for larger parties. Long trips work better on a coach anyway.
How far ahead should we book?
As early as possible. Long-distance work needs driver planning and it is not something to arrange at short notice.
Is the fare fixed?
Yes, agreed before travel. Motorway delays or a slow exit from the campus do not change what you pay.
