Group and minibus hire, with a driver
Everything on this site comes back to the same vehicle. Whether it is a race day, a wedding, a stag weekend or a school fixture, the answer for a group is one vehicle, one price and one person to speak to. This is that service, described plainly.
Seats, with a driver, across everything we do. Below eight we use cars and MPVs; above forty-nine we run more than one vehicle on a single booking so the group still arrives together.
Four reasons a group does better in one vehicle
This holds across every kind of booking we take, which is why the same argument appears on every page of this site.
Per head, it is lower
Split across eight or sixteen people, a fixed fare is usually below the total of individual fares, fuel and parking, and it is known in advance rather than discovered afterwards.
Including the sensible one
The person who would otherwise be nominated gets to enjoy the day. This is the single most common reason people book us.
And leaving together
A convoy of cars becomes three cars arriving twenty minutes apart and one that got lost. One vehicle does not do that.
Not a group chat
One booking, one driver's number, one person we deal with. Whoever organised it stops fielding questions.
What we run
Capacities below are belted seats. Luggage and equipment reduce practical capacity, so tell us what is travelling as well as who.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Luggage | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Saloon | 1–4 | 2 cases | Individual travel, airport legs, funerals. |
| Estate | 1–4 | 3–4 cases | Same, with more boot. |
| MPV | 1–6 | 4 cases | Families and small groups. |
| 8-seater | 1–8 | 8 soft bags | The most-booked group vehicle. |
| 16-seat minibus | 9–16 | 16 soft bags | Weddings, clubs, nights out, school classes. |
| 24-seat midi coach | 17–24 | Hold luggage | Squads, away days, larger receptions. |
| 49-seat coach | 25–49 | Hold luggage | Whole-group travel and long distance. |
| Multiple vehicles | 50+ | Varies | One booking, one contact, arriving together. |
What people hire them for
This is the spread of our group work. Each has its own page with the detail specific to it.
| Purpose | Typical vehicle | More detail |
|---|---|---|
| Weddings and guest shuttles | Minibus or coach | See our wedding transport page. |
| Race days and sporting events | Minibus | Ascot, Cheltenham, Brands Hatch and the rest. |
| Concerts and festivals | Minibus | Late returns are the point. |
| Stag and hen weekends | Minibus | Multi-stop itineraries. |
| Corporate and away days | 8-seater to coach | On account with monthly invoicing. |
| School and club fixtures | Minibus or midi coach | Kit space and documentation. |
| Airports, ports and cruise terminals | 8-seater or minibus | Luggage capacity matters most. |
| Funerals and family occasions | MPV or minibus | Handled quietly and to time. |
How hiring with a driver works
With a driver, not self-drive
Everything we do includes a driver. We are not a self-drive rental company, and if that is what you need we will say so rather than waste your time. The driver is most of the value: they know the route, they deal with the parking, they wait when you run late, and they mean nobody in your group has to stay sober or sober up.
Sizing is where money is saved or wasted
The two commonest errors are booking two smaller vehicles when one larger one would be cheaper, and booking to head count without allowing for luggage. Tell us how many people and roughly what is travelling with them, and we will tell you which option costs less. We would rather quote the cheaper one and have you come back.
Fixed price, agreed before you commit
Every quote is a fixed figure based on the itinerary, the vehicle and the timings. It does not change for traffic, waiting, a late finish or the hour of the return. If something about your plan makes the price uncertain, we will tell you what and why at the quoting stage rather than afterwards.
Multiple pick-ups and multiple drops
Groups rarely start or finish in one place. Collecting from several addresses on the way out and dropping everyone individually on the way back are part of the booking rather than extra journeys. It is usually what makes one vehicle cheaper than the alternative once you have done the sum properly.
Group and minibus hire questions
The general ones. The venue pages cover the specifics.
Do you provide a driver?
Always. We are not a self-drive hire company. The driver handles the route, the parking and the waiting, which is most of the reason a group books a vehicle rather than driving themselves.
What sizes do you have?
Saloons, estates and MPVs for up to six, eight-seaters, sixteen-seat minibuses, twenty-four-seat midi coaches and forty-nine-seat coaches. Above that we run multiple vehicles on one booking so the group still travels together.
How many people actually fit with luggage?
Fewer than the seat count if there is a lot of it. Sixteen people with festival kit or full sports kit are more comfortable in a midi coach than a minibus. Tell us what is travelling and we will size it honestly.
Can you collect from several addresses?
Yes, and drop everyone individually on the way back. Both are part of the booking rather than charged as extra journeys, and they are usually what makes one vehicle cheaper than everyone travelling separately.
Is the price fixed?
Yes, agreed before you commit, based on the itinerary and timings. Traffic, waiting time and a late finish do not change it. If anything about your plan makes a price uncertain we will say so upfront.
How late can you run?
Any hour. Late-night and small-hours returns are a large part of what we do, and the fare does not increase because of the time.
How far do you travel?
Kent, London and the South East as standard, and nationwide for events. Long journeys are planned around driver hours rules, which we will explain when we quote.
Can you invoice a company or a club?
Yes, on account with monthly invoicing and VAT receipts. Suitable for businesses, schools, clubs and anyone booking regularly.
How far ahead should we book?
For summer Saturdays, December and major event dates, as early as possible. Those are the dates that genuinely run out. Ordinary midweek bookings are usually fine at short notice.
What if our numbers change?
Tell us and we will adjust where we can. Numbers move on almost every group booking and we expect it, though moving up a vehicle size late depends on availability.
