Nights out, with a fare that does not move at closing time
Everything about a night out is easy except the end of it. That is when demand spikes, prices climb, bookings get cancelled and a group of eight ends up split across three vehicles or standing in the cold. Booking it in advance simply removes that.
Agreed when you book, whether that is a fortnight before or the same afternoon. It does not respond to demand, weather, the time, or how many other people want a car at the same moment you do.
Why closing time is the expensive part
This is not complicated and it is worth stating plainly, because it is the whole reason to book ahead.
Everyone leaves at once
Venues close within the same half hour across a town, and every group in them wants a vehicle simultaneously. Supply does not increase to match.
That is how surge works
Dynamic pricing is designed to respond to exactly that moment. It is not a scam, it is the model, and it is why the fare at midnight bears no relation to the one at nine.
Short trips lose out
At peak demand a driver accepting a longer journey is rational. A group waiting for a short local run is the one that gets dropped, repeatedly.
Because it already exists
Your vehicle is allocated in advance at an agreed price. Nothing about the night's demand affects a job that is already on our system.

Multiple drops on the way home
A group from one town rarely lives in one street. Dropping everyone individually is included rather than charged as extra journeys, which is usually the difference in cost against booking separately.

The practical case
For four or more, it is usually cheaper anyway
People assume a booked vehicle is the expensive option. Split between six or eight, with several drops included on the way home, it frequently comes in below the total of individual app fares at closing time, and it is certain rather than hopeful. We would rather you did the sum than take our word for it, which is why we quote before you commit.
The Kent to London problem
A night in London from Kent runs into the same wall every time: the last train home is earlier than the night wants to be, and the connection at the Kent end frequently does not exist at all. That is not a reason to leave at half ten. It is a reason to book the return and stop watching the clock.
Nobody has to be the designated driver
The oldest and least fair arrangement in the group. Somebody spends the evening on soft drinks, drives everyone home and gets thanked. A shared vehicle costs each person less than the round of drinks they would have bought that person out of guilt, and everybody actually enjoys the night.
Booking late is fine, booking ahead is better
We take same-day bookings and we would rather have them than not. But Friday and Saturday evenings, and December generally, do fill up. If the date matters, a few days' notice makes the difference between a choice of vehicle and whatever is left.
Night out transport questions
Short answers, because it is not a complicated service.
Will the price change at closing time?
No. The fare is agreed when you book and it does not respond to demand, the hour or the weather. That is the main reason people book in advance rather than taking their chances at midnight.
Can you drop everyone at their own door?
Yes. Multiple drops on the way home are part of the booking rather than charged as separate journeys, and we route them sensibly rather than in the order people ask. It is usually what makes a booked vehicle cheaper than the alternative.
How late will you collect?
Any hour. Two, three, four in the morning are routine, and the fare is the same figure you agreed earlier.
Can you do multiple stops during the evening?
Yes, give us the plan and the driver stays with you across it. Dinner then a bar then home is one job rather than three, and it is priced accordingly.
Can we book on the day?
Often yes, and we would rather have the booking than not. Friday and Saturday evenings and the whole of December do fill up, so a few days' notice gives you a proper choice of vehicle.
What if we finish earlier or later than planned?
Call us. We will bring the pick-up forward where we can and the driver waits if you run late. Nights out rarely finish when people think they will and we plan for that.
Do you cover London from Kent?
Constantly. It is one of our most common bookings, precisely because the last train and the Kent connection are what cut a good night short.
Is alcohol allowed in the vehicle?
No, alcohol may not be consumed in our vehicles. Everything else about the evening is your business.
Can one person book for the group?
Yes, and usually one person does. They book, they pay, and the group settles up however they like. One receipt rather than eight.
What if someone is unwell?
Tell the driver rather than saying nothing. There is a cleaning charge if the worst happens, which we will be upfront about, and early warning usually avoids it altogether.
