Short answer: the price we quote includes VAT at the standard rate, and it includes everything else too. A quote that says "from £45" and then adds 20% at checkout, or arrives as an invoice with VAT on top, is not a £45 quote. Ours is one number, before you book, and it is the number on your card statement.
The rules on VAT for private hire changed at the start of 2026. Many operators that previously accounted for VAT only on their commission must now account for it on the full fare, which adds up to 20% to the headline price across a large part of the industry. Some have absorbed it, some have added it, and some show prices before VAT to look cheaper on comparison sites. When comparing quotes, ask one question: is this the final amount, with VAT and all charges, that I will pay?
Yes. Every price on the booking page and on your confirmation includes VAT. Nothing is added at checkout.
Yes. A VAT invoice is emailed with every booking, and business account customers receive one itemised monthly invoice.
