For guests arriving at Barbican Centre, the journey in from the airport is exactly where a fixed-fare, pre-booked transfer earns its place. The Barbican Centre sits within a Brutalist estate of raised walkways in the City, with no visitor car park and the Congestion Charge and ULEZ in force. A Rushxo transfer takes the whole problem off your hands: met in arrivals after a tracked flight, driven directly to the door, with every toll already built into a price locked at the moment you book — no queue with luggage, no cross-city connection, no surge-priced app after a long flight.

Where we drop you

Arriving at Barbican Centre — the City

Barbican Centre is at Silk Street, London EC2Y 8DS. Barbican and Moorgate are about a five-minute walk, with St Paul's and Liverpool Street close by. We deliver you door-to-door to the exact entrance you need, and run the return to any airport on the same fixed-fare basis.

◎ Silk Street Entrance

We set you down at the Silk Street entrance, where the team can help with your luggage, with no walk from the Tube through the crowds.

With limited parking around the venue, a door-to-door drop-off that pulls in, unloads and leaves is the easiest way to arrive — especially with luggage after a long flight. Give us the full details at booking and we plan the approach around it.

★ Return Journeys

We run the return leg to any London airport on the same fixed-fare basis, collecting you from Barbican Centre at the time you need and tracking your departure so you arrive in good time.

Book both legs together and we hold your driver details for the return.

A Fixed Fare With No Surge, Ever

On-demand apps surge exactly when you most need to travel — early mornings, late nights, holidays and bad weather, which is precisely when guests and travellers arrive. A Rushxo fare does the opposite: calculated on genuine road distance, quoted as a single fixed figure at booking, and never altered.

About Barbican Centre — Your Destination

The Barbican Centre is Europe's largest multi-arts venue, with a concert hall, theatres, cinemas, galleries and a conservatory, home to the London Symphony Orchestra. It sits in the City within the Congestion Charge and ULEZ zones with no visitor car park, so a door-to-door transfer is the easiest way to arrive.

A Smooth Arrival

The centre is buried in a Brutalist estate of walkways and is famously easy to get lost in on foot, with no visitor car park. Whether you are arriving for a concert, a conference or the galleries, the journey is far simpler in one vehicle dropped at the Silk Street door than navigating the estate with luggage. A single Rushxo saloon, executive car or MPV carries your whole party door-to-door for one fixed fare, and child seats and boosters are provided free on request.

Travel Safely — Pre-Booked, Licensed, Accountable

A pre-booked Rushxo transfer is named and identifiable to you in advance: your driver holds an enhanced DBS check as a condition of their TfL Private Hire licence and operates a fully insured, logged vehicle. You receive the driver's name, number, and the vehicle's make, model and registration before pickup. A female chauffeur can be requested for lone or late-night travellers.

About Rushxo

Rushxo Ltd is a Dartford-based private hire booking agent working with operators licensed by Transport for London, registered at Companies House under number 16464640, and with the ICO under reference ZC112187. Every driver holds a current TfL Private Hire Driver licence, requiring an enhanced DBS check, a medical assessment and topographical and English-language testing. Our model rests on one promise: the fixed fare quoted at booking is the fare you pay, every time. Learn more at www.rushxo.co.uk.

How to choose. Public transport wins on price for one traveller with hand luggage at 10am. A taxi usually wins when there are two or more of you (one fare for the car, not per person), when you have hold bags or a pushchair, for flights before the first train arrives or landings after the last one leaves, and when a change of train or a station without lifts would be a problem. Rail fares above are per adult; add £4–£6 per person for the DART/shuttle where shown, and remember engineering work most weekends.

Step-free: Liverpool Street (Elizabeth/Central/rail) and London Bridge step-free; Moorgate Elizabeth line step-free; Bank step-free (Northern/DLR/W&C). Buses: All TfL buses low-floor with ramp; wheelchair users free. Blue Badge parking: City of London: national Blue Badge concessions do not apply; use designated disabled bays. Guide & assistance dogs: Assistance dogs welcome on local public transport. Pets on public transport: Dogs free on TfL and National Rail (max 2), carried on escalators.

Travelling with us: assistance dogs always travel free in every car, no notice needed (Equality Act 2010). Other dogs and pets are welcome by prior arrangement – tell us when you book so we send a suitable car and a driver who is happy to carry them. Folding wheelchairs, walkers and mobility scooters that fold go in the boot at no extra charge; if you need a wheelchair-accessible vehicle or extra time at pick-up, say so when booking and we will confirm availability before you pay. Rail step-free status changes when lifts are out of service – check the station page or book Passenger Assist (ideally 2 hours ahead); on TfL you can turn up and go.

Child-friendly Liverpool Street: places for children & family dining (nearest researched hub to Barbican Centre: Liverpool Street)

Family restaurants: Giraffe Spitalfields; Pizza Express Liverpool Street; Wagamama London Bridge (Hay's Galleria).

Baby changing & feeding: Baby-changing in free toilets at Liverpool Street and London Bridge (Network Rail).

Child seats: licensed private hire cars are exempt from the child-seat law when a seat is not available, but we would rather fit one – give us the children’s ages when you book and we will bring the right seat where we can (free, subject to availability), or you are welcome to bring your own. Pushchairs and travel cots go in the boot at no charge.

Car park, car hire, rail and accessibility details are as published by the operators and airports (seen October 2026) and from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors) – check before you rely on them; TfL Journey Planner times are for a weekday 10:00 departure. Our fares are the fixed saloon price on the linked route page.
