Indicative "from" fares. Executive and V Class columns are priced from the same mileage as the saloon, and the exact figure for your postcode pair is confirmed before you book. Fuel, tolls, driver time and the Dartford Crossing are all inside the fare.
What the fixed intercity fare covers
The number you are quoted is the number you pay. On a 200-mile run that matters more than it does on an airport hop, because there is more in the journey that a meter would otherwise catch. Inside every intercity fare:
- Fuel and the whole driver cost, including the driver's return leg. You are not charged for the empty run home.
- Tolls and crossings on the route, including the Dartford Crossing and the M6 Toll where it saves time.
- The London Congestion Charge and ULEZ where the pickup or drop-off sits inside the zones.
- Door-to-door: a house, hotel, office or ward entrance at both ends, not a station forecourt.
- Luggage to the stated capacity of the vehicle you book, with no per-bag charge.
- One agreed stop on long runs — a comfort break on a 4-hour drive is expected, not extra.
Priced separately, and always agreed in advance rather than added afterwards: additional destinations, child seats, a return booked as a second job, and journeys that start between midnight and 05:00 on the 24th, 25th, 26th or 31st of December or the 1st of January.
Waiting time and cancellation
Waiting time is free for the first 15 minutes at a private address and for 60 minutes after landing at a UK airport, measured from the actual touchdown time rather than the scheduled one, because the flight number is on the booking and the arrival is tracked. After that, waiting is charged per 15 minutes at the vehicle's hourly rate, quoted when you book. Cancel more than 12 hours before the pickup and there is no charge at all. Inside 12 hours a saloon is charged at 50 per cent, because a 4-hour intercity job blocks a driver's whole day and cannot be refilled at short notice. If we cancel on you, or the car is late because of something on our side, you pay nothing.
Train, coach or taxi? An honest answer
A fixed-price car is not the right answer for every intercity journey, and pretending otherwise wastes your time. The variable that decides it is how many of you are travelling, because a taxi fare is per car and a rail fare is per person.
Here is the arithmetic on the London to Manchester run, using our own prices and nothing else:
| Travelling party | Vehicle | Fare | Cost per person |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 passenger | Saloon | £400 | £400 |
| 2 passengers | Saloon | £400 | £200 |
| 3 passengers | Saloon | £400 | £133 |
| 4 passengers | Saloon | £400 | £100 |
| 6 passengers | V Class | £660 | £110 |
| 8 passengers | V Class | £660 | £83 |
Take the train if you are travelling alone or as a pair, you can book an Advance single well ahead, your journey runs city centre to city centre, and you are happy to travel with hand luggage. On that profile rail is usually cheaper and often quicker door to door, and we will say so on the phone.
Take the car when the party is three or more and the per-seat maths flips; when you are moving luggage, instruments, sample cases or a wheelchair; when the pickup or drop-off is a village, hospital, depot or wedding venue with no useful station; when you need to leave at 04:00 for an early flight or arrive after the last train; or when the cost of a missed connection is larger than the fare. Check the live rail fare for your date before you decide — if the train wins for your journey, book the train.
Long-Distance, Done Properly
💷 One price for the whole trip
A 60-mile run or a 250-mile run, the fare is agreed before you set off and never moves. No meter creeping up in motorway traffic, no app-style surge on a Friday afternoon.
🚕 Door to door, no changes
Collected from your home, office or hotel — anywhere in London or any English city — and taken straight to the destination: no station transfers, no dragging cases across a concourse, no onward taxi at the other end.
👥 Better value for groups
For two or more travellers with luggage, a fixed-fare MPV or minibus often beats several peak train tickets — and everyone travels together, door to door.
⏱️ 24/7, on your schedule
Pre-dawn departures, late finishes and awkward connections are all the same fixed fare, around the clock, with no night premium.

Comfortable, economical long-distance car for one to four travellers.
Executive
Mercedes E-Class or BMW 5 Series with a suited chauffeur for business trips.

The whole party together for an event, a wedding or a corporate move.
