Studio Tour: no tickets at the door
The Warner Bros. Studio Tour does not sell tickets on arrival. Not at busy times, not at quiet ones, not ever. Everything is pre-booked for a timed slot, popular dates go months ahead, and turning up hopefully is the one thing that definitely will not work.
Only, and often months in advance for school holidays and weekends. Once you have a slot, the transport is straightforward. Without one there is no day out to arrange, which is why the tickets come first and we come second.
How the tour actually works
Worth understanding before you plan anything else.
No exceptions
There is no walk-up option and no tickets sold at the entrance.
Which is your entry time
Arrive within it. We plan the departure backwards from it.
Three to four hours
At minimum, and enthusiasts take considerably longer.
Months ahead
Particularly weekends and school holidays. Book early.
Kent to Leavesden
North west of London, so round the M25 rather than through the city.

A day at the Studio Tour
Get the tickets, then talk to us
There is genuinely no point planning transport before you have a slot, because the slot decides the whole day. Popular dates sell out months in advance, particularly weekends and school holidays. Once you have one, send us the time and the rest is a simple hour-and-a-quarter run round the M25.
Allow longer inside than you think
Three to four hours is the honest minimum, and groups with a real enthusiast in them regularly take five. Booking a collection for three hours after entry is how families end up hurrying through the last section. Tell us the slot and we will set the collection with sensible margin rather than optimistically.
The shop is a genuine factor
It is large, the merchandise is extensive and people buy heavily, particularly with children. Six people arriving with day bags frequently leave with considerably more. It costs nothing to mention at booking and it means we leave room in the back.
It is closer than most people assume
Leavesden is north west of London and around an hour and a quarter from north Kent round the M25, which makes this one of the easier family days out on this site. No city driving, motorway most of the way, and a comfortable return in the evening.
Studio Tour questions
Tickets, slots and timing.
Can we buy tickets on the day?
No. Everything is pre-booked for a timed slot and there is no walk-up option at all. Turning up hopefully will not work.
How far ahead should we book tickets?
Months for weekends and school holidays. Once you have a slot, the transport is straightforward to arrange.
How long does the tour take?
Three to four hours at minimum, and groups with a serious enthusiast regularly take five. Do not book a collection for three hours after entry.
How far is Leavesden from Kent?
Around forty to eighty-five miles, roughly an hour and a quarter from north Kent to two and three quarter hours from the east, round the M25.
What time should we leave?
We plan backwards from your entry slot with margin for the M25. Send us the slot and we will set the pick-up.
Will we need space for shopping?
Very likely. The shop is large and people buy heavily, particularly with children. Mention it and we will leave room.
Is it suitable for young children?
Many families go, and it is a three to four hour walk-through with a lot of standing. Judge it for your own group.
Is the fare fixed?
Yes, agreed at booking including the waiting.
