If you finish at four in the morning, you already know the problem: the fare is whatever the app says it is that night, and sometimes there is no car at all. A pre-booked journey is a fixed fare agreed in advance, at any hour, and a car that is already assigned to you before your shift ends.
RushXO is a licensed private hire company. Our vehicles are ordinary cars with no exemptions of any kind — no lights, no sirens, no priority, and no dispensation from speed limits, traffic signals or any other road traffic law. We are not connected to, contracted by or endorsed by any police force, fire service or ambulance trust.
We will not drive faster because a journey is urgent, and if that is what a journey needs, we are the wrong service. In a genuine emergency, call 999.
Shifts end at exactly the hours when app pricing is least predictable and the fewest drivers are working. That is not bad luck; it is the same hours every week, and it is the single most irritating thing about getting home from a night shift.
Where fixed pricing applies, the fare agreed when you book is the fare you pay.
Compare it against what you normally pay for the same journey at the same hour. That comparison is the whole argument, and we would rather you made it than took our word for it.
Content team: do not publish a fare comparison, a percentage or a “save up to” figure unless it comes from real data gathered over a reasonable period — see §17, which sets out how to collect it for nothing. An invented or cherry-picked comparison on a page aimed at this audience would be spotted immediately and repeated in a crew room.
A shift does not end when the rota says it does. A late job, a handover that drags, paperwork that has to be finished tonight — running thirty or ninety minutes over is normal, and it makes booking a car for the rota time useless.
Book a flexible finish instead. No fixed pickup time on it: when you are actually walking out, you text or call the number on your confirmation, and a car comes.
Typical wait from the moment you call is [X MINUTES — STATE HONESTLY FROM REAL DATA, INCLUDING THAT IT VARIES BY HOUR AND AREA].
Content team: this is the same dispatch mechanism as the open return specified for appointment travel. Build it once and it serves both pages plus any future shift-work content — see §20. Confirm it works and publish a real response time, not an aspirational one; this audience will measure it.
If your shifts repeat, there is no reason to book them one at a time.
Stop it whenever you like, and there is no minimum.
A repeating booking between a home address and a particular building, at the same time every week, describes more than a journey. For some people that matters a great deal, and it is not something you should have to raise.
None of these need explaining and none of them cost extra.
The point of pre-booking is that the thinking is done before the shift, not after it.
All ordinary private hire bookings, quoted individually. See UK-wide private hire for longer journeys.
Annual leave tends to start straight off the back of a shift, which means an airport run at a time nobody sensible would choose.
If you are looking for a contracted transport supplier, here is an honest position rather than a pitch.
Contracted work for emergency services organisations generally requires vetting of the supplier and of individual drivers — and the requirements differ between forces, trusts and fire services. Most of it is not something a private hire operator holds by default.
What RushXO holds today: [CONTENT TEAM: state exactly what is held — operator licence, driver licensing, DBS level, insurance, ICO registration, and any vetting at any level. “We do not currently hold any non-police personnel vetting” is a perfectly good and publishable sentence.]
What we would need to do: [CONTENT TEAM: state the position on obtaining vetting, and the timescale, only if there is a genuine intention to pursue it.]
If you are procuring through a framework, tell us which one and we will tell you plainly whether we are on it and whether we could be. We would rather say no early than waste a procurement team’s afternoon. Talk to us about account travel for staff journeys, which is straightforward and needs none of the above.
Content team — hard blocker. Publish nothing in this section that implies contract-readiness RushXO does not have. A procurement officer will identify an overstatement immediately and it will follow the company around a sector that talks to itself. If no vetting is held, say so. The honest version of this section is genuinely more likely to start a conversation than a vague one.
[CONTENT TEAM: if a discount is offered, state it here plainly — the amount, what it applies to, and how it is verified through an existing scheme. Do not ask people to state their occupation to claim it; that conflicts with not recording it.]
A street address is fine if you would rather not name the building.
Tell us roughly when you are due to finish and choose a flexible finish. Or give a fixed time if you know it.
However you have it. We will set up the whole pattern at once.
Quiet, temperature, dropped at the door. Once, not every time.
Where fixed pricing applies, that is the fare you pay whatever the hour.
One word. Driver and vehicle details come to you in writing before travel where available.
Agreed at booking. No surge, no multiplier, no weather pricing.
No pickup time booked. Text when you’re actually out.
Send it once. Swap or drop one without losing the rest.
No occupation, no employer, no number. Just the journey.
Side road, car park, next street. No reason needed.
Booked in advance rather than hoping one is free when you walk out.
No radio, no conversation. Set it once.
Airports, courts, training sites and long-distance journeys.
What we don’t claim: RushXO is not an emergency service and has no exemptions from any road traffic law — no lights, no sirens, no priority, and no permission to drive faster than anyone else. We are not connected to, contracted by, endorsed by or approved by any police force, fire service or ambulance trust, and we do not hold ourselves out as a supplier to any of them. In an emergency, call 999.
Where fixed pricing applies, yes — the fare agreed at booking is the fare you pay, at any hour, on any date, in any weather. No surge, no multiplier, no recalculation because the traffic was worse than expected. Compare it against what you normally pay for the same journey at the same time; that is the comparison worth making.
Yes — book a flexible finish. Give us the rota time as a rough guide, and when you are actually walking out you text or call the number on your confirmation. There is no car sitting outside charging you while you finish, and being an hour late is exactly what it is for.
Typically [X MINUTES], varying by hour and area. We would rather give you a real number than a flattering one, because you will be standing in a car park counting.
Yes. Send it however you have it — a photo of a printout, a screenshot, or just the pattern. We will set the whole thing up, and you can swap or drop a single journey without disturbing the rest.
No. We do not ask for or record your occupation, your employer or any number. You can give a street address rather than a building name, and the driver receives an address rather than a description of what is at it. Bookings are not tagged or categorised.
Yes — a side road, the car park, the next street, wherever suits. Put it in the notes. No reason needed and none will be asked for.
No, to both. We are a licensed private hire company with ordinary cars and no exemptions of any kind — no lights, no sirens, no priority, and no dispensation from speed limits or traffic signals. We will not drive faster because a journey is urgent. If a journey needs that, we are the wrong service; call 999.
No. We are not connected to, contracted by, endorsed by or approved by any police force, fire service or ambulance trust, and we do not hold ourselves out as a supplier to any of them. If you are procuring transport, see for forces, services and trusts for an honest statement of where we stand.
[CONTENT TEAM: state plainly whether one is offered, what it applies to, and how it is verified through an existing scheme. If none is offered, say so — and point at fare predictability instead, which is worth more over a year than a percentage off.]
[STATE HONESTLY WHAT DISPATCH CAN DO — “YES”, “WHERE WE CAN, BUT WE CAN’T PROMISE IT”, OR “NO”. DO NOT WRITE “WHERE AVAILABLE”.]
Call rather than using the form if it is tonight, and we will tell you straight away what is available. A pre-booked journey is more reliable, which is rather the point — but we take short-notice work where we have a car.
Yes, and it is an ordinary request. Ask once and we will note it against your bookings. Same for the radio, the temperature and being dropped at the door.
The driver will wake you at the other end. It happens constantly and nobody minds.
Yes — see account travel. One invoice against a purchase order or cost centre rather than a stack of individual receipts.
Only under a written agreement setting out handover arrangements at both ends. We do not take this work on an ad hoc basis, and an operator who did would be worth asking questions about. Call us and we will tell you honestly whether it is something we can do.
Give us the time you need to arrive by rather than a pickup time. We work backwards allowing for expected traffic and tell you whether it is comfortable, tight or not achievable — before you book rather than after.
RushXO is a UK licensed private hire company providing pre-booked ground transportation. We are not an emergency service. Our vehicles are ordinary licensed private hire vehicles carrying no emergency equipment, no warning lights and no audible warning devices, and they hold no exemption from speed limits, traffic signals or any other provision of road traffic law.
We will not drive faster, take priority, or treat any journey as an emergency, regardless of who is travelling or why. If a journey requires an emergency response, call 999.
RushXO is not connected to, contracted by, endorsed by, approved by or affiliated with any police force, fire and rescue service or ambulance trust, and does not hold itself out as an approved or preferred supplier to any of them.
