Twenty thousand people leave The O2 at 22:45; ninety thousand leave Wembley. The Jubilee line copes, slowly; the apps surge and then cannot reach you. A pre-booked car with an agreed pickup point ten minutes' walk from the doors is how hotel concierges and tour managers do it — and the price is fixed when you book, not at 23:00.

The O2 (North Greenwich): getting there and away

Drop-off: the taxi and private hire set-down is off Millennium Way by the North Greenwich bus station, two minutes' walk from the main entrance; suite guests can be dropped at the VIP loop via Meridian Gate by arrangement. Public transport: Jubilee line to North Greenwich (last trains to central London around 00:30 on weeknights; Night Tube on the Jubilee line on Fridays and Saturdays), or Uber Boat by Thames Clippers from North Greenwich Pier. Pickup after the show: the roads around the dome are one-way and gridlocked for 45 minutes after the encore. We use pickup points on Edmund Halley Way / Millennium Way by the bus station, or at the Intercontinental hotel forecourt, agreed when you book. Parking on site is expensive on event days (valet £75–£85). Details on theo2.co.uk — getting here.

Wembley Stadium: getting there and away

Drop-off: event-day road closures apply on Olympic Way and around the stadium; taxis and private hire drop on the approach roads (Empire Way, Engineers Way, Fulton Road) and at the designated taxi rank by Wembley Park. Public transport: Wembley Park (Jubilee, Metropolitan), Wembley Stadium (Chiltern) and Wembley Central (Bakerloo, Overground); after a full-house concert the queues into Wembley Park station run to an hour. Pickup after the show: we agree a point outside the closure zone — typically on Bridge Road / Forty Lane (north), or the Wembley Retail Park side — a 10–15 minute walk, and the driver waits. Check the event page on wembleystadium.com — plan your visit for the day's closures.

Frequently asked questions

Can a taxi pick me up outside The O2 after a concert?
Not at the doors — the roads round the arena are gridlocked for about 45 minutes after the show. We agree a pickup point by the North Greenwich bus station or the Intercontinental, two to five minutes' walk, and the driver waits.
How do I get away from Wembley Stadium after a concert?
Wembley Park station queues run to an hour after a full house. A pre-booked car at an agreed point outside the road closures (Bridge Road / Forty Lane or the retail park side) is a 10–15 minute walk and a fixed fare.
What time is the last Tube from North Greenwich?
Around 00:30 towards central London on weeknights; the Jubilee line runs all night on Fridays and Saturdays. Check TfL for the date.
