indigo at The O2: a small room with a very large neighbour

indigo at the o2 transfers fixed-price taxi booking with Rushxo

Two thousand eight hundred people is an easy night out. Two thousand eight hundred people leaving at the same moment as twenty thousand from the arena next door is a completely different evening. Which one you get depends on a listing you probably have not checked.

7 to 1

The ratio between the arena's capacity and indigo's. When both rooms are running, your night is governed by the bigger one, and the entire peninsula operates on its timings rather than yours.

Check the arena listing

The single most useful thing to know before you travel

indigo shares a plaza, an approach road and a set of drop-off points with the main arena. Whether that matters depends entirely on what is happening in the big room on your date.

QUIET NIGHT

Arena dark

The peninsula is calm, the drop-off is straightforward and the car is genuinely waiting where you left it. These are the easiest nights we run anywhere in London.

BOTH BUSY

Arena show as well

Now you are one of twenty-three thousand rather than one of two thousand eight hundred. Set-down moves, traffic management kicks in and the return needs planning properly.

STAGGERED

Different finish times

Sometimes the two rooms end an hour apart, which is the best possible outcome. We check the listings and, where it helps, suggest waiting twenty minutes rather than walking into the surge.

WE CHECK

So you do not have to

When you tell us the date, we look at what else is on the peninsula that night and plan accordingly. It takes us a minute and it changes the whole shape of the evening.

What indigo does with 2,800 seats

The room switches between seated and standing depending on the show, which affects both the finish time and how quickly it clears. Comedy and seated music are the bulk of it.

Getting to the peninsula from Kent

Greenwich Peninsula is the closest major venue complex to our patch, which is why this is one of the cheaper London evenings on our list. Straight up the A2 and you are there.

Making the most of a small-room night

Eat on the peninsula first

The complex around indigo has more restaurants than most high streets, and a seated show with a ten o'clock finish leaves no time afterwards. An earlier drop costs nothing extra and turns a two-hour show into a full evening. Given how close the peninsula is to north Kent, leaving early enough to eat properly is easy in a way it is not for the west London venues.

A seated show is the most predictable job we do

Comedy and seated music at indigo finish close to the advertised time, the room clears in about ten minutes, and there is no encore uncertainty. That predictability lets us set a precise collection rather than a window, which in turn means you walk out and get straight in. It is the least stressful category of booking on our entire list.

The 2,800 crowd disperses differently

A small audience does not overwhelm the transport around the peninsula the way an arena crowd does. On a night when the big room is dark, you will find the area calm and the walk short. That is worth knowing because it means the honest answer is sometimes that you do not need us for the outbound leg at all, only the return, and only if you are heading somewhere the timetable does not serve well.

Groups and accessibility

Because the room is small and seated, we get a lot of birthday parties, work outings and family groups here, often including someone who would struggle with a long walk. The peninsula's set-down points are close to the doors on a quiet night, which makes this one of the more accessible venues we cover. Tell us what you need at booking and we will plan the closest reachable point for your date.

indigo at The O2 travel questions

Short room, short answers, with one important exception.

Is indigo the same as The O2 Arena?

Same complex, different room. indigo is a 2,800-capacity venue within the O2 building on Greenwich Peninsula, while the arena holds around twenty thousand. They share the plaza and the approach roads, which is why what is happening in the arena on your date affects your evening even though you are not going to it.

Why does the arena listing matter to my booking?

Because if both rooms are busy, the peninsula operates on the arena's timings. Set-down points shift, traffic management is in place and the exit is much slower. When you give us your date we check what else is on and plan accordingly, which sometimes means a different meeting point and sometimes just a different departure time.

Where do you drop off and collect?

Close to the entrance plaza on a quiet night, which is a short walk to the doors. When the arena is also in use we move to the standard peninsula collection arrangements, which are slightly further out. Either way you get the exact point and the vehicle registration before the show ends.

How long does it take from Kent?

This is our shortest London run. Around forty minutes from Gravesend, half an hour from Bexleyheath, under an hour from Medway. Straight up the A2, no tunnel needed on the way in.

What time do shows finish?

Seated comedy and music usually between ten and half past. Standing shows run later, often past eleven. Because indigo is seated for most of its programme, finish times here are more reliable than at almost any other venue we cover.

Can we eat before the show?

Yes, and it is the obvious move. The complex has a large number of restaurants a couple of minutes from the door. We drop earlier at no extra cost provided it is included when the job is priced.

Is the fare fixed?

Yes. Agreed at booking on postcode, vehicle and timings, and unaffected by traffic or a late finish. There is no meter and no surcharge for an evening job.

Can you take a group?

Yes, from a saloon up to a forty-nine-seat coach, though most indigo bookings are cars, MPVs and eight-seaters given the size of the room. Larger vehicles use the peninsula's coach arrangements rather than the car points.

Do you cover accessibility requirements?

Tell us what you need when you book. On a quiet night the set-down is close to the doors, which makes this one of the easier venues in London for anyone who cannot walk far. Arrangements differ when the arena is busy, so notice helps.

Should we book the return as well?

For most people, yes, particularly for anywhere in Kent after ten at night. If your journey home is genuinely well served we will say so rather than sell you a leg you do not need.

Tell us the date and we will check what else is on

Show, date, postcode, numbers. We look at the arena listing, plan around it, and quote a price that does not move.
