Bournemouth BIC: far enough that you may as well stay
The BIC sits above the beach beside the Lower Gardens, in a town built for people to arrive and remain. At around a hundred and thirty miles from Kent it is right at the edge of a comfortable day return, and the town itself is a reason to stop pretending it is one.
From north Kent, about two and a half hours each way along the M25 and M27. That is a five-hour round trip around a three-hour show, in a seaside town with a beach outside the venue. The arithmetic tends to argue for staying.

How Kent groups use Bournemouth
The overnight is the obvious call
Two and a half hours each way for a show that finishes at half ten means arriving home around two in the morning. The town has an enormous supply of accommodation, midweek rates are modest, and you wake up beside a beach. Most groups who do the day return once do not repeat it.
Exeter Road empties onto the gardens
The venue fronts Exeter Road with the Lower Gardens beside it, which means the crowd disperses into a green corridor rather than onto a single street. That makes the exit gentler than the Brighton Centre despite a similar capacity. We hold a few minutes inland where the roads are clear.
Conference season is a different job
Autumn party conferences bring cordons, accreditation and closed roads around the venue, and the arrangements are set per event rather than being standard. If your booking falls in that period we check the position for your specific date and set the drop accordingly.
Worth pairing with the coast

Should we stay the night?
Most groups do, and we would suggest it. A day return means getting home around two in the morning, and Bournemouth has a very large supply of accommodation at modest midweek rates.

There is town-centre parking, and like all resort towns it fills in season and empties slowly. For an evening show it is not the pleasant option.
Can you take a coach?
Yes, up to forty-nine seats. For a two and a half hour run a coach is considerably more comfortable than a minibus.
Is the fare fixed?
Yes, agreed before travel and unaffected by motorway delays or a late finish.
