The Den: the most managed arrival in London
Millwall matchdays run to a plan. Home and away supporters are routed separately, the approach from South Bermondsey station is segregated, and stewarding around the ground is more visible than at any comparable London club. Knowing the plan is most of what makes the day straightforward.
Bermondsey, which is south of the river and genuinely close to Kent. From Bexleyheath or Dartford this is one of the shorter matchday runs on our list, and it is a good deal easier than crossing to west London.

Getting a Millwall matchday right

At most grounds this is a detail. Here it decides the arrangement completely, because home and away supporters are routed separately with different approaches and different exits. Booking without telling us means we are guessing, and getting it wrong at this ground means a considerably longer walk around the outside.
It is closer to Kent than people assume
Bermondsey is south of the river and east of the centre, which means no bridge, no tunnel and no run through town. From Bexleyheath or Sidcup this is a twenty-five to forty-five minute journey, which makes The Den one of the more convenient London grounds for our customers despite the reputation for being awkward.
The stewarding is thorough, and that is fine
Millwall matchdays are more visibly managed than most, with a strong steward and police presence and clear routing. For anyone unfamiliar it can feel unusual. In practice it makes the day predictable, and predictability is exactly what we want when arranging a collection.
Coaches need arranging with the club
Supporters' coaches at this ground have a separate arrangement confirmed with the club per fixture rather than a standing location. If you are booking a coach, give us as much notice as you can so the arrangement can be made properly.

Do I need to say which end I am in?
Yes, and it matters more here than at any other London ground. Home and away supporters are routed separately with different approaches and exits, so the answer changes where we drop you and where we collect.
How close is The Den to Kent?
Closer than most people expect. Twenty-five to forty-five minutes from Bexleyheath or Sidcup, around forty-five from Gravesend. It is south of the river with no crossing involved.
Where do you collect?
For home supporters, towards Rotherhithe New Road clear of the ground. For away supporters, coordinated with the segregated exit route. Both are agreed before the day.
Is there parking near the ground?
Matchday controls cover the surrounding streets, and the area immediately around the ground is a mix of industrial and residential roads that are managed on matchdays.
What about supporters' coaches?
They have a separate arrangement confirmed with the club per fixture rather than a fixed location. Give us as much notice as possible so it can be arranged properly.
Is the matchday heavily policed?
Visibly managed, yes, with clear routing for both sets of supporters. For anyone unfamiliar it feels unusual; in practice it makes the day predictable.
