Snetterton sits on a former airfield in the middle of Norfolk, flat and fast and surrounded by farmland in every direction. There is no town attached, no strip of pubs and no obvious place to go if the racing is delayed. What you bring with you is what you have.
The nearest anything of consequence is a fair drive away. This is not a criticism of the circuit, which is excellent, but it is the single most useful planning fact about a day here and the one people underestimate.

A day at Snetterton
Treat it like a festival, not a stadium
The right mental model here is a small festival site rather than a sports venue: you arrive, you are there for the day, and everything you need should come with you. There is no nipping out for a sandwich and no pub across the road. Load the vehicle properly on the way out and the day is excellent; arrive with nothing and it is a long afternoon.
The wind is the thing nobody expects
A former airfield in Norfolk is flat in every direction with no trees, no hills and nothing to slow the wind down. Even in June it can be cold standing still for a few hours, and in spring or autumn it is genuinely bracing. Layers matter more here than at any other circuit we go to.
Norfolk time, not Norfolk distance
The mileage from Kent looks like a two-hour trip and it is not, because there is no motorway anywhere in Norfolk and the last stretch runs on A-roads. Allow closer to three hours from north Kent. We plan and quote on the real figure, which occasionally surprises people who have measured it on a map.
The circuit itself is very good
None of the above is a complaint. Snetterton is fast, open and rewards a proper look, with long straights and heavy braking that make the racing genuinely watchable. It is one of the better British circuits for a spectator who wants to see actual overtaking, and the lack of anything around it is part of why it stays that way.

How long does it take from Kent?
Around two and a half to nearly four hours, which is longer than the mileage suggests because Norfolk has no motorway and the last stretch is on A-roads.
