Some people want a quiet journey. Some want no air freshener in the car. Some would rather get a message than a phone call, or know the driver's name before they arrive, or be told if the route changes. All of that is easy for us to do — and you should only have to say it once.
This page lists what you can ask for, and what happens when you do. You never have to explain why, and we never ask for a diagnosis or any kind of evidence.
You can do all of this by message. If you'd rather not make a phone call, use WhatsApp or email and we'll sort the whole booking that way, including any questions.
The tiring part isn't the request. It's making it again from the beginning, to a different person, before every journey.
So you can set your travel preferences once and we'll apply them to every booking you make. Change them whenever you like. You don't need to mention them again, and you don't need to check we remembered.
None of these carry a charge, and none of them require an explanation.
This section describes a feature that does not exist yet. Do not publish it until the saved preference profile is built and confirmed to reach the driver as an instruction. If it can't be built in this cycle, rewrite this section to describe accurately what happens today with a booking note — an honest description of a smaller thing is fine; a promise the system can't keep is not, and on this page in particular it would do real harm to someone who relied on it.
What drivers are asked to do, whether or not you've set anything:
If a journey doesn't match that, tell us — see what happens then further down.
Ops sign-off, not content sign-off. Every line above is a claim about the driver brief and the driver terms. Confirm each is genuinely in place and enforceable with whoever owns those contracts. Cut anything that isn't rather than softening the wording.
Your assistance dog travels with you, in the vehicle, at no additional charge. You don't need to arrange it in advance, though telling us helps us send a suitable car.
This is worth stating plainly because refusals still happen. Under the Equality Act 2010, taxi and private hire drivers must carry assistance dogs and must not charge extra for doing so, unless the driver holds a medical exemption certificate. Refusing is a criminal offence, not a matter of preference. You can read the position on GOV.UK, and how private hire licensing works on the Transport for London site, rather than relying on us for either.
If a RushXO driver ever refuses, tell us with your booking reference. We'll arrange another vehicle, and we'll deal with the driver under our terms. We'd rather hear about it than not.
Legal sign-off required. Confirm the exact wording of the legal statement with a solicitor, confirm that no driver applies any surcharge, and confirm there is a defined process for handling a reported refusal — the copy invites those reports and they must go somewhere. This statement should also live permanently on the accessibility page, where people searching for it will actually find it.
You can arrange the whole thing by message — WhatsApp or email — including asking questions first. If you'd rather talk it through, call "020 8888 9988". Neither is the "proper" way and we won't push you towards the phone.
Your confirmation is written to be short and plain: the reference, the pickup point, the time, the destination and the fare. Ask and we'll read it back to you, or send just the essentials in a message. If a postcode or address ever looks wrong to you, tell us and we'll check it — it's easier to fix the day before than on the doorstep.
We can send a reminder before your journey — the day before, an hour before, or both. Say which when you book, or set it once with your other preferences. It costs nothing and it's genuinely one of the more useful things we do.
Tell us if you can, and we'll let the driver know rather than leaving them guessing. [CONTENT TEAM: state the actual waiting time included and what happens beyond it. Be specific and be generous if you can — this is the single most-asked question in this part of the page, and a vague answer here will lose the booking.]
It happens constantly and it's not a problem. Contact us with your booking reference as soon as you notice and we'll check with the driver — see lost property. Drivers are asked to check the back seat and footwells between jobs.
If it's the same journey every week — to college, to work, to a group, to an appointment — it's easier and usually cheaper to book them as a block rather than one at a time.
For colleges, employers, day services and support organisations arranging this for someone else, business accounts and invoicing are available — one arrangement and one monthly invoice rather than individual payments.
If you're booking for a family member, someone you support, or a young person, the same things apply — plus a few that matter more.
One thing we don't do: we don't provide care, supervision or support during a journey. Our drivers are professional drivers. If someone needs support while travelling, that needs to be arranged separately and can travel with them — a companion travels in the same vehicle at no additional fare, subject to capacity.
Tell us. A published standard nobody acts on isn't worth much, so here's what actually happens.
Ops and legal sign-off. Two published timescales operations must be able to meet — a response time you miss is a misleading commercial practice, not just an accuracy problem. "Removal from RushXO work" is a claim about the driver terms and needs confirming with whoever owns those contracts.
Message, email or phone. If you'd rather not call, you never have to.
Where from, where to, what date and time. If you're not sure of an exact address, send what you have and we'll work it out with you.
Quiet journey, no air freshener, message instead of call, driver details in advance, where to wait, extra time. Anything on the list, or anything not on it.
The day before, an hour before, or both.
Give us their details and say who the driver should contact.
Short, plain, with the reference, the fare, the pickup point and the time. Ask us to read it back if that's easier.
Content team: verify every step against the live booking flow. Step 3 depends on the saved-preferences feature, and step 4 on reminders existing. If either doesn't, this section describes something that doesn't happen. Note also that the current form is long — a short path with a "we'll ask the rest by message" option would suit a large part of this audience better and is worth building.
Preferences saved to your account and applied to every booking. No repeating yourself.
We never ask why, and we never ask for a diagnosis or any kind of evidence.
WhatsApp or email, including questions. You never have to make a phone call.
Driver name, vehicle and registration ahead of travel where available.
No conversation, no radio unless you ask. Nothing to negotiate in the car.
At no extra charge, and it isn't up to the driver.
The day before, an hour before, or both.
Set the pattern once. Pause it for holidays. Fixed fare where applicable.
Named person, stated timescales, written outcome.
We record how you'd like the journey to go. Nothing else.
What we don't claim: our drivers are professional drivers, not trained specialists, and we don't hold any accreditation in this area. We don't provide care or supervision during a journey. What we do is a list of specific, ordinary things done reliably — which, from what passengers tell us, is mostly what was wanted.
We don't use that label, because it usually means nothing. What we offer is a list of specific things you can ask for and we'll do: a quiet journey, no air freshener, a message instead of a phone call, driver details before travel, the route stated at the start, extra time, and a particular place to wait. Set them once and they apply to every booking. No explanation needed and no evidence asked for.
No. Ever. We don't ask why, we don't ask for a diagnosis, and we don't ask for any kind of evidence. A preference goes on the booking as an instruction to the driver — not as a note about you.
Yes, and it's one of the most common things people ask for. No conversation and no radio unless you ask for it. Set it once and you won't need to mention it again. If you'd rather chat, that's equally fine — you don't have to decide in advance either.
Yes. Say so when you book, or save it as a preference, and we'll send a vehicle without air freshener or scented products. Tell us about anything else in that category too — windows open, temperature, no strong perfume — and we'll pass it on as an instruction.
Yes. The driver messages on arrival rather than ringing, and doesn't use the horn or knock. You can also tell us exactly where to wait, or ask the driver not to approach the door at all. Save it once and it applies every time.
Yes — the whole thing by WhatsApp or email, including any questions beforehand. We won't push you towards the phone at any point. If you'd prefer to talk it through, that's available too, and neither is the "proper" way.
Where available, yes — the driver's name, the vehicle and the registration are sent ahead of travel, with a photograph where we have one. If anything doesn't match what you were sent, call or message us before getting in.
The driver says so. Drivers are asked to state the route at the start if you've asked them to, and to tell you if it needs to change rather than leaving you to notice. You can also ask to stop at a safe, public place at any point and the driver will, without argument and without asking why.
Yes, in the vehicle, at no additional charge. You don't need to arrange it in advance, though telling us means we can send a suitable car. Under the Equality Act 2010 drivers must carry assistance dogs and must not charge extra unless they hold a medical exemption certificate — refusing is a criminal offence. If a RushXO driver ever refuses, tell us with your booking reference and we'll arrange another vehicle and deal with the driver.
Yes — the day before, an hour before, or both. Say which when you book or set it once with your other preferences. It costs nothing and a lot of people find it the most useful thing on this list.
Message or call us if you can and we'll let the driver know rather than leaving them guessing. [CONTENT TEAM: replace with the actual waiting time included and what happens beyond it. Be specific — a vague answer here loses the booking.]
It happens all the time. Contact us with your booking reference as soon as you notice and we'll check with the driver. Drivers are asked to check the back seat and footwells between jobs, so a lot of things are found before anyone reports them missing.
We can't promise it, and we'd rather say that than imply otherwise. Drivers work different shifts and take holidays. For a regular booking on a consistent day and time we'll try, and we'll tell you honestly how likely it is for your particular journey. Your saved preferences apply whoever is driving, so a different driver still knows what to do.
Yes. Put whatever they've told you works for them on the booking and we'll follow it. Give us their contact details as well as yours and tell us who the driver should contact — sometimes that's the passenger and sometimes it isn't. You can pay in full so there's nothing to handle in the car. Note that we don't provide care or supervision during a journey; a companion can travel in the same vehicle at no additional fare, subject to capacity.
Once, in a message, in whatever detail suits you. We'll put it on your account and apply it to every booking after that — and you won't have to say it again.
