Indicative "from" fares. Executive and V Class columns are priced from the same mileage as the saloon, and the exact figure for your postcode pair is confirmed before you book. Fuel, tolls, driver time and the Dartford Crossing are all inside the fare.

What the fixed intercity fare covers

The number you are quoted is the number you pay. On a 200-mile run that matters more than it does on an airport hop, because there is more in the journey that a meter would otherwise catch. Inside every intercity fare:

Priced separately, and always agreed in advance rather than added afterwards: additional destinations, child seats, a return booked as a second job, and journeys that start between midnight and 05:00 on the 24th, 25th, 26th or 31st of December or the 1st of January.

Waiting time and cancellation

Waiting time is free for the first 15 minutes at a private address and for 60 minutes after landing at a UK airport, measured from the actual touchdown time rather than the scheduled one, because the flight number is on the booking and the arrival is tracked. After that, waiting is charged per 15 minutes at the vehicle's hourly rate, quoted when you book. Cancel more than 12 hours before the pickup and there is no charge at all. Inside 12 hours a saloon is charged at 50 per cent, because a 4-hour intercity job blocks a driver's whole day and cannot be refilled at short notice. If we cancel on you, or the car is late because of something on our side, you pay nothing.

Train, coach or taxi? An honest answer

A fixed-price car is not the right answer for every intercity journey, and pretending otherwise wastes your time. The variable that decides it is how many of you are travelling, because a taxi fare is per car and a rail fare is per person.

Here is the arithmetic on the London to Manchester run, using our own prices and nothing else:

Travelling partyVehicleFareCost per person
1 passengerSaloon£400£400
2 passengersSaloon£400£200
3 passengersSaloon£400£133
4 passengersSaloon£400£100
6 passengersV Class£660£110
8 passengersV Class£660£83

Take the train if you are travelling alone or as a pair, you can book an Advance single well ahead, your journey runs city centre to city centre, and you are happy to travel with hand luggage. On that profile rail is usually cheaper and often quicker door to door, and we will say so on the phone.

Take the car when the party is three or more and the per-seat maths flips; when you are moving luggage, instruments, sample cases or a wheelchair; when the pickup or drop-off is a village, hospital, depot or wedding venue with no useful station; when you need to leave at 04:00 for an early flight or arrive after the last train; or when the cost of a missed connection is larger than the fare. Check the live rail fare for your date before you decide — if the train wins for your journey, book the train.

Why a fixed-fare car

Long-Distance, Done Properly

💷 One price for the whole trip

A 60-mile run or a 250-mile run, the fare is agreed before you set off and never moves. No meter creeping up in motorway traffic, no app-style surge on a Friday afternoon.

🚕 Door to door, no changes

Collected from your home, office or hotel — anywhere in London or any English city — and taken straight to the destination: no station transfers, no dragging cases across a concourse, no onward taxi at the other end.

👥 Better value for groups

For two or more travellers with luggage, a fixed-fare MPV or minibus often beats several peak train tickets — and everyone travels together, door to door.

⏱️ 24/7, on your schedule

Pre-dawn departures, late finishes and awkward connections are all the same fixed fare, around the clock, with no night premium.

FAQ

Intercity Transfers — Your Questions

Which English cities do you cover?
London plus every city in England — all 53 official cities outside the capital, from Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool and Leeds to Oxford, Cambridge, Bath, Bristol, York and beyond. Each has its own fixed-fare transfer page above, and the London intercity hub connects London to every one of them.
Do you cover transfers to and from London?
Yes — London is fully covered. We pick up and drop off at any London postcode, hotel, station or airport, and run fixed-fare transfers between London and every English city in both directions at the same price.
How much is a long-distance intercity taxi?
A fixed fare agreed at booking, no meter, no surge. As a guide, London–Oxford or London–Cambridge from about £130, London–Birmingham from £250, London–Manchester from £400. Exact price confirmed instantly at booking.
Is a fixed-fare car better than the train?
For groups, early starts, lots of luggage or door-to-door convenience without changes, a fixed-fare car is often better value and far less hassle than several peak train tickets plus onward taxis. For one person travelling light off-peak, the train is usually cheaper — we will tell you straight.
Do you carry groups and luggage?
Yes — saloon, executive car, six-seat MPV or 8–9-seat minibus, all at one fixed fare with room for the luggage, on any route.
Are intercity transfers available 24/7?
Yes — we run long-distance transfers around the clock at the same fixed fare, with no night surcharge.
How much is a taxi from London to Manchester?

From £400 for a saloon, fixed before you book, for the whole car over roughly 200 miles. Fuel, tolls and the driver's time are included, with no meter and no surge.

How much is a taxi from London to Birmingham?

From £250 for a saloon over roughly 125 miles, fixed at booking for the whole car. Leeds is from £390, Liverpool £420, Bristol £240 and Nottingham £260.

Can four people share a taxi from London to Manchester?

Yes. The fare is per car, so four in a saloon at £400 is £100 each, door to door with no changes and no luggage limits beyond the two cases the boot holds. Six travel in an MPV, up to eight in a minibus.

Do you have executive cars for intercity business trips?

Yes. The executive class is a Mercedes E-Class or BMW 5 Series with a suited chauffeur, for one to three passengers with two cases, at a fixed fare agreed in advance.

Is the intercity fare per car or per person?
Per car. The price covers the whole vehicle, so it divides by however many of you travel. London to Manchester is £400 in a saloon, which is £400 for one passenger but £100 each for four; the same run in an V Class is £660, or £83 a head with eight on board. That is the opposite of a rail ticket, which is priced per person no matter how many of you go.
How long does a London to Manchester taxi take?
About 3 hours 50 minutes for the 200 miles, door to door, outside the rush hours. Liverpool is nearer 4 hours 5 minutes, Leeds 3 hours 45, Birmingham 2 hours 20. Those are driving times with one comfort break allowed for, not optimistic best cases, and the driver builds in the traffic pattern for your departure time rather than an average.
Does the fare include tolls, the Congestion Charge and ULEZ?
Yes. Tolls and crossings on the route, including the Dartford Crossing and the M6 Toll where it saves time, are inside the quoted price, as are the London Congestion Charge and ULEZ where the pickup or drop-off falls inside the zones. Fuel and the driver's return leg are included too, so you are not charged for the empty run home.
What happens if my flight lands late?
Nothing changes and nothing is added. Put the flight number on the booking and the arrival is tracked against the actual touchdown time, not the printed schedule. You get 60 minutes of free waiting from the moment the wheels are down, which covers immigration and the carousel on a long-haul arrival.
Can I cancel a long-distance booking?
Yes, free of charge any time up to 12 hours before the pickup. Inside 12 hours a saloon is charged at half the fare, because a four-hour intercity job takes a driver off the road for the day and cannot be refilled at short notice. If we cancel, or the car is late for a reason on our side, you pay nothing.
Is a taxi cheaper than the train for an intercity journey?
It depends entirely on the size of your party. Travelling alone or as a pair, with an Advance single booked well ahead and a city-centre-to-city-centre journey, the train is usually cheaper and often quicker, and we will tell you so. From three passengers upward the per-seat arithmetic turns, and once you add luggage, an early start before the first train, or a pickup somewhere with no useful station, the car wins on more than price.
