Each way to Bramham Park, against roughly an hour to Reading for the same bands on the same weekend. We will happily take you, and we would rather you knew the comparison before you booked the ticket than after.

Planning Leeds from Kent

We would rather say this plainly

Most people from Kent holding a Leeds ticket meant to buy Reading, and the moment to discover otherwise is now rather than on the Thursday of the bank holiday. If your ticket says Bramham Park and you would rather it did not, resale is usually possible in the weeks beforehand. If Leeds is what you want, that is entirely reasonable and we will get you there.

Camping is not optional at this distance

Nobody is doing a four and a half hour drive each way for a day at a festival. That means a full camping load, which takes considerably more room than the head count suggests, and a drop on the Thursday or Friday with a collection on the Monday. We price it as one arrangement, which is cheaper than treating it as two separate journeys.

The bank holiday Monday collection is slow

You are joining the busiest road day of the British summer, leaving a site with tens of thousands of other people, and heading two hundred and twenty miles south. Realistically the collection runs at the slow end of every estimate. We plan for that, and the fixed fare means the delay costs you nothing extra.

Bramham Park is a good site

Parkland rather than a bare field, with proper trees and some shelter, and a layout that most people who have done both prefer to Reading's. That is a legitimate reason to choose it, and if it is your reason then the drive is simply the price of the better site.

Leeds Festival questions

The northern twin.

Is Leeds the same festival as Reading?

Effectively yes. They run on the same weekend with near identical line-ups, the acts moving between the two sites. Reading is about an hour from Kent; Leeds is four and a half.

Should we go to Reading instead?

From Kent, usually. If you bought a Leeds ticket by mistake, resale is normally possible in the weeks beforehand. If you chose Leeds deliberately, that is entirely reasonable.

How far is Bramham Park from Kent?

Around two hundred and twenty to two hundred and sixty miles, roughly four to six hours each way including required rest breaks.

Can we do it without camping?

No, not sensibly. Nobody drives four and a half hours each way for a single day. We drop on the Thursday or Friday and collect on the Monday.

Why is the Monday collection slow?

Because it is the busiest road day of the British summer, you are leaving with tens of thousands of others, and you are heading two hundred miles south.

How much space does camping kit need?

Considerably more than the head count suggests. Tents, bedding, chairs and supplies for four days fill a hold quickly. Tell us honestly and we size for it.

Is Bramham Park a better site than Reading?

Many people who have done both think so. It is parkland with real trees and shelter rather than a flat riverside field.

Is the fare fixed?

Yes, agreed at booking as one arrangement covering both the drop and the collection.
