From Battersea to Kia Oval, priced before you travel

The journey from Battersea to Kia Oval is 2.3 miles, and most people price it twice: once when they guess, and once when the meter or the surge app finishes with them. We price it exactly once, at £67 for the whole car, agreed at the moment you book, with tolls and zone charges already inside and a driver who arrives with your name and handles the bags. Motorway traffic, diversions and slow miles between Battersea and Kia Oval are our risk, not a line on your bill, and that is the entire point of a fixed fare instead of a rented meter. Leave Battersea at 3am or 3pm and the saloon fare to Kia Oval is the same £67.

Event day at Kia Oval: the stadium leg, done properly

Big venues turn geography inside out: roads close, ranks vanish, and tens of thousands of people want a car at the same final whistle. Our event work runs on staging. The pickup point is agreed in advance, a short walk outside the cordon, where the car can actually be when the crowd pours out. On the way in we drop as close as the day’s closures allow and tell you honestly what the walk will be; on the way out you stroll past the queue to a driver already in position, which on a big-match night feels like a magic trick and is actually just planning. Groups make event travel cheap, because an 8-seater split between friends routinely beats the combined cost of trains and the misery of the last crowded service home. Tell us the start time when you book and we build the timing, the staging and the patience in before you have found your seats.

The journey, hour by hour

Before six in the morning the journey flows beautifully, with clear roads, quick times and the calm of a trip that began with a knock at the door rather than a queue. In the peaks we plan honestly, with the upper end of the window, a margin that leans your way, and a straight answer in advance if a connection looks tight. Whatever the clock says, the Battersea to Kia Oval price is bolted down before departure. Roadworks, diversions and slow miles are our risk, not a line on your bill. One person, one small bag, the middle of the day, and the train can be the smarter buy, which we are happy to admit. The arithmetic flips at three familiar points: company, cargo and the clock. A black cab solves the comfort question at whatever the meter decides; an app solves it at a price set by demand the minute you are desperate; a pre-booked fixed fare is the only version of this journey where the number was agreed while you were still calm.

Fixed prices, every vehicle

Which vehicle for Battersea to Kia Oval?

Most passengers on this route book a saloon; families and groups with luggage take the 7-seater MPV taxi; for business travel the executive chauffeur car (Mercedes E-Class, from £80) or a Mercedes S-Class chauffeur on request; for seven or eight passengers an 8-seater taxi (from £93) or 9-seater minibus (from £93). Every vehicle on the Battersea to Kia Oval run is TfL-licensed private hire — a pre-booked minicab with a fixed fare, not a metered cab. See the vehicle size guide for luggage capacity.

Per car, always. Split £67 across a group and the per-head cost beats trains, coaches and ride-apps alike, with the luggage in a boot instead of on your knees. Returns booked together cost less than two singles, so Battersea to Kia Oval and back starts from £121 instead of £135 when both legs are booked together. Child seats are fitted free with ages at booking, and oversized items such as bikes or instruments are welcome with a word in advance so the right boot turns up.

The pricing, explained plainly

Every fare is worked out from the road distance for your journey, with a minimum fare so short hops stay viable. Anything that applies to your route, such as the Congestion Charge in central London or airport drop-off and parking charges, is already inside the price you see and never added afterwards. Larger vehicles cost more, and each one has its own fixed price shown before you book. Returns booked together cost less than two singles. Some times of day and public holidays carry a surcharge; if one applies, it is shown in your quote before you book, and the price you confirm is the price you pay.

Who books Battersea to Kia Oval

The connector, joining a flight, a train or a sailing at the far end, for whom the timing matters more than anything, and we work backwards from the departure that cannot be missed. The group, friends, families and colleagues who split one fixed price and ride together with the bags in the boot instead of negotiating racks and stairs. The early and the late, whose journey starts before the network wakes or after it sleeps, collected at the door at the agreed minute. The visitor, new to the area and happier with a name on a board and a settled price than with decoding local options off a phone in the rain. And the regular, for whom this run is simply part of the routine, booked in one message because the details are already on file.

Luggage and the right vehicle, the honest rule

Count suitcases before people. A couple with two large cases sits comfortably in the saloon; add a buggy, golf clubs or a full holiday set and the MPV earns its modest premium instantly. The Executive suits client pickups and meetings on wheels, with a quiet cabin, a charging cable and an unhurried driver. The 8-seater and 9-seater move whole groups and their luggage in one calm vehicle for less per head than almost any alternative. If you are unsure, tell us the cases and the people at booking and we will size the car for you rather than leaving you to guess at the kerb.

Accessibility and special requirements

Tell us what the journey actually needs and the right car turns up. Child seats at every stage, infant, toddler and booster, are fitted free with ages given at booking. Assistance with luggage, a steady arm to the door and extra time at pickup for anyone who moves carefully are standard, not premium. Assistance dogs always travel, no notice needed, and foldable wheelchairs and walkers ride in the boot as a matter of course. The point of a pre-booked car is that the journey adapts to the passenger, never the reverse.

Licensing, vetting and the things that matter

Every driver is TfL private-hire licensed and enhanced-DBS checked, and every vehicle carries full private-hire insurance for the work it does. Journeys are logged, receipts are emailed automatically, and lost property has a phone number that answers, 020 8888 9988, rather than a form that vanishes. If something is not right, a complaint reaches a human the same day. Payment is by card online or to the driver, with a receipt either way, and minimum notice is 120 minutes for standard journeys and just 30 for airport pickups. The fixed fare is not decoration; it is the running total of exactly these habits.

Booking Battersea to Kia Oval, four ways

Online at rushxo.com, where every vehicle’s fixed price appears before you pay. By phone on 020 8888 9988, answered by people around the clock. On WhatsApp, where you send the pickup, destination and time and get the price back in minutes. Or by account, for businesses and frequent travellers who prefer one monthly invoice. The one habit that unlocks everything on a connection is to give us the departure you must make, the flight, the train or the sailing, and let us quote the pickup backwards from it with the margin already inside. Whichever way you book, the driver’s name, photo and registration reach your phone before pickup, and you are messaged the moment the car is in position, so at any hour you know exactly which car is yours.

The alternatives, weighed honestly

A black cab solves the comfort question at whatever the meter decides; a ride app solves it at a price set by demand the minute you are most desperate; the train can genuinely be the smarter buy for a solo traveller with hand luggage at a quiet hour, and we will say so. A pre-booked fixed fare is simply the only version of Battersea to Kia Oval where the number was agreed while you were still calm, the car was guaranteed before you needed it, and a late-night inner-London pickup earns a discount instead of a surcharge. For most travellers carrying real luggage, travelling as a pair or group, or moving at an awkward hour, that is the version worth having.

Coach: National Express Victoria Coach Station – Heathrow / Gatwick / Stansted / Luton (A1, A31) – Heathrow 45-75; Gatwick 75-100; Stansted 90-120; Luton 60-90 min, varies by date (book); Green Line 757 Victoria – Luton Airport – 60-90 min, see Arriva (book).

How to choose. Public transport wins on price for one traveller with hand luggage at 10am. A taxi usually wins when there are two or more of you (one fare for the car, not per person), when you have hold bags or a pushchair, for flights before the first train arrives or landings after the last one leaves, and when a change of train or a station without lifts would be a problem. Rail fares above are per adult; add £4–£6 per person for the DART/shuttle where shown, and remember engineering work most weekends.

Step-free: Victoria step-free; Green Park step-free; St James's Park, Pimlico, Sloane Square not step-free. Buses: All TfL buses low-floor with ramp; wheelchair users free; source https://content.tfl.gov.uk/accessible-travel-in-london-leaflet.pdf. Blue Badge parking: Westminster: national Blue Badge concessions do not apply; use designated disabled bays. Guide & assistance dogs: Assistance dogs welcome on all services on local public transport. Pets on public transport: Dogs free on TfL and National Rail (max 2 on rail), carried on escalators.

Travelling with us: assistance dogs always travel free in every car, no notice needed (Equality Act 2010). Other dogs and pets are welcome by prior arrangement – tell us when you book so we send a suitable car and a driver who is happy to carry them. Folding wheelchairs, walkers and mobility scooters that fold go in the boot at no extra charge; if you need a wheelchair-accessible vehicle or extra time at pick-up, say so when booking and we will confirm availability before you pay. Rail step-free status changes when lifts are out of service – check the station page or book Passenger Assist (ideally 2 hours ahead); on TfL you can turn up and go.

Child-friendly Victoria: places for children & family dining (nearest researched hub to Battersea: Victoria)

Family restaurants: Bill's Victoria (Cardinal Place); Franco Manca Victoria; Wagamama Victoria.

Baby changing & feeding: Baby-changing in free toilets at Victoria station (Network Rail).

Child seats: licensed private hire cars are exempt from the child-seat law when a seat is not available, but we would rather fit one – give us the children’s ages when you book and we will bring the right seat where we can (free, subject to availability), or you are welcome to bring your own. Pushchairs and travel cots go in the boot at no charge.

Car park, car hire, rail and accessibility details are as published by the operators and airports (seen October 2026) and from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors) – check before you rely on them; TfL Journey Planner times are for a weekday 10:00 departure. Our fares are the fixed saloon price on the linked route page.
