The promise
Dropped at the Gate, Collected After the Last Race
A festival day at York should not end with a long queue and a surge-priced ride. With Rushxo, the price confirmed when you book is the exact total you pay — no meter, no surge, no fare that climbs because demand does. Your driver drops at the gate and is there when you are ready.
We collect from any UK address — locally in Yorkshire, a London home or an airport — for the Ebor, the Dante and every York fixture. Book a same-day return from around £634 and we hold your driver for the run home. And because fuel prices swing with global events and geopolitical shocks, locking the fare at booking protects you from that too.
Driver waiting after the last race. No meter. No surge.
Door-to-gate, fixed fare, day or night — for the big festivals and every race day at York.

Why pre-book
The York Headaches We Remove
The things that make a race day a slog — and how a fixed-fare car solves each one.
⏱️
The arrival crawl
Crowds arrive in a tight window. We use the traffic routing and aim for the closest permitted set-down.
😯
The post-race crush
The worst part of the day. Your pickup point and driver are arranged in advance, so a car is waiting, not a queue.
🚂
A long way for a day
From the South it is a long trip; a local pickup near the course, or the fast train and a short transfer at the end, often makes most sense — just ask.
🚐
Groups & syndicates
One MPV or minibus carries the party together, at one fixed fare — cheaper per head than several cars.
💰
Surge & meter pricing
Apps spike exactly when everyone leaves. Your Rushxo fare is fixed at booking and never moves.
🅿
Parking lotteries
Official parking must be pre-booked and still means a long walk and a longer exit. We are your parking — dropped at the gate.

FAQ
York Racecourse Transfers — Your Questions
How much is a taxi to York Racecourse?
Fixed-price with Rushxo — indicative saloon fares from £373 from central London (about 210 miles), and far less from a local Yorkshire pickup. Executive cars, MPVs and minibuses available; confirmed at booking, no meter and no surge.
Will the driver be there after the last race?
Yes — your driver is arranged in advance and a pickup point agreed at booking.
Is there a station near the course?
Yes — York, about 1.5 miles away on the East Coast Main Line, fast from London King’s Cross. For the long leg the train plus a short transfer often works best. See the York guide.
Can you take a group?
Yes — MPVs up to 6 and 8–9-seat minibuses up to 8, at one fixed fare.
Do you do local pickups too?
Yes — from Leeds, Harrogate, Wakefield and across Yorkshire, at a much lower local fare than from London.
Going to York?
Book a fixed-price, TfL-licensed transfer to York Racecourse — executive cars and group minibuses, no surge, dropped at the gate and a driver waiting after the last race. Fixed fares - no surge, ever.
Buy from the box office first:the venue box office – the venue’s own site or its named ticket partner (Ticketmaster, AXS, See Tickets, Dice or Eventim) is the only place the price is the real price and the ticket is guaranteed.
Cheaper, fair-price options:
book direct with the racecourse: advance online prices are usually £5–£15 cheaper than the gate, under-18s go free at most Jockey Club courses, and the grandstand/general admission enclosure is the best value for a first visit
Citizens Advice: your rights when buying tickets – pay by card, never bank transfer, and check the seller is an official partner before paying more than face value
Tickets sorted? Our fixed fare covers the car, not per person, and the driver waits where the venue lets us after the show – so a group of four usually pays less than the train plus a late-night surge-priced app ride.
Closest airport to York Racecourse
Leeds Bradford Airport is the closest airport to York Racecourse, roughly 30 road miles and about 62 minutes by car outside the peaks. For most scheduled international flights the best airport for York Racecourse is Manchester Airport, about 79 miles and 146 minutes away, with far more routes and airlines; Birmingham Airport is the next option at around 133 miles.
Choose a saloon for up to four passengers, an executive car for business travel, an MPV for families and luggage, or a minibus for groups of up to 16. Every driver is TfL-licensed and DBS-checked, and every vehicle is insured for private hire.
