Storage apps such as Stasher and Bounce also list cafés and hotels around both stations. They can be cheaper, but the walk and the shop's closing time matter more than the price. If you are catching a late train, make sure the drop point is still open when you return.
If you are going straight from the station to the airport with all your bags, a pre-booked car avoids the stairs and crowds. Fares are fixed at booking, and between Heathrow and central London start from about £93 in a saloon.
