Boxing Day football on a Saturday with most of the railway shut is going to be a story. Home fans can manage on a Sunday-service Tube; away fans, families from the Home Counties and anyone coming from a hotel or an airport will find the train they usually take does not exist on 26 December 2026. Fixed-fare cars to every London ground, with pickup points after the match that get you away rather than stuck.

Note: Boxing Day 2026 fixtures are confirmed by the Premier League and EFL in early December, and may be moved for television. We will list London fixtures and kick-off times here as soon as they are published.

Fixtures (updated when announced)

Boxing Day traditionally has a full Premier League programme and a full EFL programme, with most London clubs playing. The fixture list is announced in the summer and confirmed for television in early December. Fixture details will be added here on publication.

Rail and Tube status on 26 December

Saturday 26 December 2026 is treated as Boxing Day by every operator. Most National Rail companies run no trains, so Surrey, Kent, Essex, Hertfordshire and anywhere beyond the Tube map are cut off by rail. The Tube, Overground and DLR run a reduced Sunday-style service with later first trains. Full detail on the Boxing Day transport page.

Away fans from airports and hotels

Supporters flying in for a Boxing Day match land into airports with little or no rail service. A fixed-fare car from Heathrow to the Emirates or Stamford Bridge is 45–60 minutes and from £85; Gatwick to Selhurst Park is 35 minutes and from £85. Hotel-to-ground and ground-to-hotel legs booked together at a fixed price.

Frequently asked questions

Are there trains on Boxing Day 2026 for the football?
Most National Rail operators run nothing on Saturday 26 December 2026. The Tube runs a Sunday-level service. Check the fixture's kick-off time against first trains if you are relying on the Tube.
Can you pick us up right outside the stadium?
Roads immediately around the grounds are closed or gridlocked after the final whistle. We agree a pickup point a ten-minute walk away where the car can actually move.
Do you charge more after the match?
No. The fare is fixed when you book, whatever the demand at full time.
