How Waltham Forest gets to the airport: fares, routes and timings

Waltham Forest runs north from Leyton and Leytonstone through Walthamstow to Highams Park and Chingford on the edge of Epping Forest, with the Lea Valley reservoirs and the Walthamstow Wetlands along its western side. The A406 North Circular crosses the middle of the borough and meets the M11 just to the east.

That makes Stansted one of the easiest airports from here, with London City and Stratford International close by. All Waltham Forest postcodes are outer London in the booking engine.

Priced for a pickup at Walthamstow, London E17 7JN, UK.

Standard fares, whole vehicle, one way; the reverse journey costs the same. Returns are 1.9× the single. The engine adds 20% for Friday journeys, Saturday and Sunday pickups before noon, Monday–Thursday trips into London 07:00–10:00 and out of London 16:00–19:00, and a seasonal supplement from 17 December to 1 January. Tariff 2026-09-21h-csz.

Why two Waltham Forest addresses can price differently

Waltham Forest addresses are outer-London postcodes, so there is no central surcharge on these fares, and the Congestion Charge allowance only appears on the St Pancras run because the station itself is in a central postcode. What moves the price is distance, plus the airport drop-off charge at the airport end. Runs where neither end is an airport or inner London – Ebbsfleet, Ashford and Birmingham International – are priced on the engine's out-of-town rate, which is about 10% above the London rate for the same mileage.
