Leeds to Twickenham Stadium Taxi: Rugby Days from Yorkshire
By taxi, Leeds to Twickenham Stadium is around 201 miles: roughly 3 hr 45 min when the M1 and M25 behave, and longer on an international weekend when much of the country is heading the same way. The ground, branded Allianz Stadium since 2024, is the home of England rugby. By rail the trip means LNER to King's Cross, the Tube to Waterloo and a packed South Western train out to Twickenham, so for a group of friends one vehicle is simpler. Fares start at £404 for a saloon, with the 9-seater at £453.
M1, M25, M3: the match-day road
The driver follows the M1 south to the M25 near Watford and goes anticlockwise round the western side, past the M40 and M4 junctions and Heathrow, to junction 12. The M3 then leads onto the A316, which runs right past the stadium. This avoids central London altogether, but the western M25 from the M1 down to the M3 is one of the busiest stretches of road in the country, particularly around Heathrow. Late at night, staying on the M1 to its end and crossing west London on the North Circular to the A316 at Chiswick can be quicker.
Match-day timing
Kick-off times vary with the fixture and the broadcaster, so check your ticket rather than assuming 15:00. On match days the streets around the ground are shut to cars for much of the day, and the A316 plus the roads through Whitton and St Margarets fill up well before kick-off. We suggest being in Twickenham at least two hours early: you'll want time for the pre-match pubs anyway, and the final stretch on foot takes longer in a crowd than you'd think. For a mid-afternoon game that means leaving Leeds around 08:00. Most internationals are on Saturdays, so the outward pickup will usually fall inside the weekend-morning 20% supplement.

Leaving Twickenham after the game
This is where planning pays off. Tens of thousands of supporters head for Twickenham station and the A316 together, and a car waiting next to the ground would be stuck for a long time. Two approaches work. Either walk 15 to 20 minutes away from the stadium, beyond the closed roads, to a meeting point agreed in advance, or settle into a pub for an hour while the traffic clears and get collected from there. Put the place in the booking (a pub name or a junction you'll recognise in the dark) and message the driver when you set off on foot. From there it's the A316, the M3 and the M25 back to the M1, reaching Leeds late in the evening.
Other events at the ground
As well as England's Six Nations and autumn Tests, the stadium hosts the Premiership Rugby final and large summer concerts, all with similar road closures. The smaller Twickenham Stoop, home of Harlequins, is across the A316.
