The journey from Brighton to London
Your driver collects you from the address you give in Brighton or Hove: home, hotel, Brighton station, the Marina, Kemptown or the University of Sussex at Falmer. The usual route is the A23 and M23 north past Gatwick, then the A23 through Croydon and Streatham into London, about 54 miles to the West End.
Outside the rush hour the drive takes about 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes door to door. Weekday mornings into London are slower, so allow extra time if you need to arrive before 10am. You are dropped at the door of any London address, hotel or station, with nothing to pay on arrival.
The train from Brighton is quicker on paper, but a car takes you door to door with your luggage and one fare covers the whole group. For a side-by-side comparison see London to Brighton taxi vs the train.
