Southampton Cruise Transfers – Fixed Price to Every Terminal, Book Online 24/7
Southampton is Britain's busiest cruise port and it operates several separate terminals across two dock areas. Giving us the ship name is not enough, because ships move between terminals, and the wrong one means driving several miles round a working port on the morning you sail.
Quick answer: A fixed-price Rushxo transfer to any Southampton cruise terminal costs £266 for a saloon from central London, £185 from Heathrow, £184 from Gatwick and from £65 within Southampton – per car, not per person, with MPVs and V Class for cruise luggage. Book with the ship name and sail date: we track the berth and your driver waits at the terminal exit with a name board.
Ocean, Mayflower, QEII, Horizon and City, spread across the Western and Eastern Docks. Your cruise documents name the one you need, and it is the single most useful thing you can tell us when you book.
The terminals, and why it matters
Ships are assigned to terminals per sailing, so last time is not a guide.
Eastern Docks
One of the main terminals. Check your documents rather than assuming.
Western Docks
A different part of the port entirely.
Eastern Docks
Long established, and frequently used.
Western Docks
The newest, opened in 2021. Your paperwork will name whichever applies.
Western Docks
Berth 101. Often used by Celebrity and smaller lines. Check your documents.

Early sailings from Kent
Two to three hours each way makes the morning start the thing to plan.
| Check-in window | Leave Kent around | Note |
|---|---|---|
| 11:00–13:00 | 07:30–08:00 | Comfortable, with margin |
| 13:00–15:00 | 09:30–10:00 | The most common, and straightforward |
| Before 11:00 | 06:00–06:30 | Early, and we would still not suggest a hotel |
| Very early or awkward | Consider a hotel | Southampton has plenty, and the guide covers it |
Sailing from Southampton
The terminal is the one thing we really need
Five terminals across two dock areas, ships reassigned between sailings, and a working port that is several miles across. Your cruise documents name the terminal. Without it we are guessing, and a guess on the morning of a sailing is not something anybody wants.
This is a road we know very well
Southampton is one of our most frequent long runs, and the M3 and M27 behave predictably in ways we can plan around. That is worth something on a journey where arriving late is not recoverable, and it is why the fixed fare reflects a route we understand rather than one we are estimating.
A day return works for most check-in windows
At around two to two and a half hours from most of Kent, a midday or early afternoon check-in means leaving at a civilised hour rather than staying over. Very early sailings are the exception and our cruise guide covers when a hotel starts to make sense.
Book the return with the outbound
Ships dock early and disembarkation runs in waves, and arranging the homeward leg from the ship is harder than arranging it now. We book both together and plan the return around a realistic disembarkation rather than the scheduled docking time.

Southampton cruise questions
Five terminals, one port.
How much is a taxi from London to Southampton cruise terminal?
A Rushxo fixed fare from central London to any Southampton cruise terminal is £266 for a saloon (up to 4), £307 executive, £317 MPV and £396 for an V Class – per car, all charges included, agreed before you book. From Heathrow it is £185 and from Gatwick £184 for a saloon.
How many cruise terminals does Southampton have?
Several, including Ocean, Mayflower, QEII, Horizon and City, spread across two dock areas. Your cruise documents name the one you need.
Can we just give you the ship name?
Not reliably. Ships are assigned to terminals per sailing, so the same ship may use a different terminal from last time. Give us the terminal from your paperwork.
How far is Southampton from Kent?
Around a hundred to a hundred and fifty miles, roughly two to three and a half hours each way on the M25, M3 and M27.
Do we need a hotel the night before?
For most midday and afternoon check-ins, no. Very early sailings are the exception and our cruise guide covers when it makes sense.
What time should we leave Kent?
We plan backwards from your check-in window with margin. For a one o'clock check-in from north Kent that is usually around half nine.
Do you know this route well?
Very. Southampton is one of our most frequent long runs and the M3 and M27 behave predictably, which matters on a journey where arriving late is not recoverable.
Should we book the return?
Yes, with the outbound. Ships dock early and disembarkation runs in waves, and arranging it from the ship is harder.
Is the fare fixed?
Yes, agreed at booking for both legs.

Local know-how: Southampton cruise terminals
Southampton has several cruise terminals, and the dock gate depends on which one your ship uses. According to Visit Southampton, Ocean and QEII use Dock Gate 4 (Eastern Docks), while Mayflower, City and Horizon use Dock Gate 10 (Western Docks). City is also reached via Dock Gate 8 and Mayflower via Dock Gate 20. Visit Southampton also says most terminals have drop-off points close to the entrance. Southampton Central station is under 10 minutes from the port by taxi, per the same source. Confirm your terminal on your cruise documents at least 24 hours before sailing and tell us at booking. Luggage is the main reason cruise passengers book a taxi, and your fixed fare covers it. We agree your pickup point at booking.
