RushXO provides pre-booked private hire across the UK — airport transfers, hotel journeys, weddings and civil partnerships, events, family visits, station connections and long-distance travel. This page covers the practical details of how a booking works, because that's the part worth knowing in advance.
Three things, up front. You choose the name on your booking. You choose what appears on the board in arrivals, including nothing at all. And we don't ask for a title, a gender or any ID — none of it is needed to drive you somewhere.
A note on terms. Transgender and non-binary are umbrella terms covering a lot of different people with a lot of different experiences, and they're not the same thing as each other — plenty of non-binary people don't describe themselves as trans, and vice versa. We're a transport company, not an authority on any of it. What follows is about how our bookings work.
Where meet & greet applies, a driver stands in the arrivals hall holding a board with a name on it. That board is read by everyone who walks past. Most transport companies print whatever came out of the booking system and never give it another thought.
We'd rather you decided. Tell us when you book and the board shows any of the following:
You don't need to explain the choice, and we won't ask. It's a field on a form.
The name on a private hire booking is an operational label — it tells the driver who they're collecting and it goes on the confirmation. That's all it does. It doesn't have to match anything. Give us the name you use, and that's the name that appears on the booking, in the driver's instructions and on the board if you want one there.
Content team: this only works if the booking system can actually take a board preference and pass it to the driver. Confirm that, add the option to the form, and check that the driver-facing app displays the right thing. If it can't be done today, don't publish this section — it is the page's primary claim and the one people will test.
Want something specific on the board, or no board at all? Tell us when you book, or message us.
Book a transferThis causes confusion often enough to be worth setting out plainly, because the two things get conflated and they shouldn't be.
Airlines require the name on a ticket to match your travel documents, and border requirements are set by the relevant authorities. Those are their rules, not ours. We can't change them, we can't work around them, and we won't offer advice about them — your airline is the right place to ask about ticket names, and the relevant passport or document authority about anything else. If you want guidance beyond that, there are organisations that publish travel information for trans and non-binary people; we're not one of them.
Completely separate, and not connected to your flight booking in any way. We're not an airline, we're not an agent, and we have no access to your travel documents or your reservation. The name you give us is simply how we identify your booking.
So if the name on your ticket isn't the name you use, that's a matter between you and the airline — and it has no bearing at all on what your driver calls you, what's on the confirmation, or what's on the board.
If you're unsure about anything before booking, ask us first. Call "020 8888 9988" or message WhatsApp and we'll tell you exactly what information we need for a private hire reservation — which is less than most people expect.
A private hire booking needs surprisingly little. Here's the whole list, and here's what isn't on it.
Your driver receives the booking name, the addresses, the times and any notes you've added as instructions. Nothing else reaches them.
Content team — check these three things before publishing: that the booking form genuinely has no title or gender field; that confirmation emails and SMS templates don't auto-generate a salutation from a stored title; and that the driver-facing app shows the booking name rather than an account name. The email template is the one that gets missed — every other improvement is undone by an automated "Dear Mr…".
Written down so you can read it before you book, rather than discovering it afterwards.
This is part of the terms drivers work under. [CONTENT TEAM: confirm this is accurate and that it's been briefed. If a written standard doesn't exist, write and brief it before publishing this section, or soften the claim to match reality. Do not claim formal training unless it exists and can be named.]
Tell us, with your booking reference, and it goes through our complaints process — an acknowledgement from a named person, an investigation, a written outcome, and action under our driver terms where it's warranted. If our answer doesn't satisfy you, you can take it to the authority that licensed the driver, and we'll tell you which one that is rather than making you find out.
You can also just call us mid-journey on "020 8888 9988" if you'd rather the journey ended somewhere safe and public. We'll arrange onward travel.
This is why a lot of people book private hire, and none of it is specific to any one group of passengers.
We're not making any claim about anything else here. Private hire is simply a more direct and more private way to travel, and that's the whole of the argument.
We cover transport to and from Pride events, festivals, conferences, workshops, fundraising events and community gatherings — individual bookings, families, or groups across several vehicles where available.
More on event travel, including Pride weekends across the UK, on our LGBTQ+ friendly private hire page. RushXO is not an official partner or sponsor of any Pride organisation or event.
Ceremonies vary in format, length, venue and how many events are involved. We plan around your schedule and assume nothing about it.
The name and board options above apply to every vehicle in a wedding booking, for anyone who wants them. Send the dates, venues and guest numbers and we'll quote the whole thing as one arrangement. See wedding transfers.
To be plain about scope: we provide passenger transport. Not wedding planning, catering, decoration or event management.
People travel in every possible configuration, and none of it changes how a booking works.
Group and 8-seater vehicles are available where the option applies. We don't operate minibuses or coaches — if a group genuinely needs one, we'll say so.
Pre-booked transfers from all five London airports and across the UK, direct to a hotel, a home, a venue or another city. Where flight monitoring is available, the transfer follows your actual landing time, and eligible airport bookings include complimentary waiting of up to 60 minutes, subject to our booking terms. We quote against your specific date rather than publishing journey times. See all London airport transfers.
The main long-haul gateway, and the busiest arrivals halls of the five — which is exactly where the board options are worth setting.
Two terminals some distance apart — confirm which one when you book.
Both carry a high share of late arrivals, when onward public transport has thinned out and a pre-booked car removes the variable entirely.
The quickest of the five to clear and the closest to the centre, with a small arrivals area.
We also cover hotel transfers and train station transfers.
Arrival day is when a pre-booked car earns its keep — after a long flight, in an unfamiliar terminal. Booking in advance fixes the price, the vehicle, the meeting point and the board while you still have time to think about all four.
It's a two-second decision months in advance and an awkward one at the barrier. Same for the booking name.
Screenshot the confirmation before you fly. Roaming and airport Wi-Fi are unreliable at exactly the moment you need them.
Border control, then baggage, then customs before the public arrivals area. This takes a while at peak times, which is what the complimentary waiting time on eligible bookings is there to absorb.
We have no involvement in and offer no advice about immigration, visas, document requirements or border procedures. Those are matters for the relevant authorities and, if you want guidance, for organisations that specialise in it. Our part starts when you reach arrivals.
Business travel: airport and hotel transfers, conference and meeting transport, and inter-city journeys, with fixed fares where applicable and a written fare for expense claims. Executive vehicles where a journey runs straight into a meeting. The booking name and board options apply here too — a company account doesn't override what you've asked for on your own booking.
Student travel: airport or station to university accommodation, with room for the luggage a full term requires. Give us the building name and any arrival instructions the university has sent, since campus addresses are frequently hard to find. Journeys home for breaks and family visits during term are booked the same way. See UK-wide private hire.
Requirements vary and so do vehicles, so what we can arrange depends on your specific need, your location and your date. Tell us before booking rather than hoping on the day.
Content team — highest-risk section on the page. Publish no claim about wheelchair-accessible vehicles unless RushXO genuinely operates them and can say where and when. If they aren't offered, say so plainly and signpost a provider who does. An ambiguous claim that fails someone is worse than an honest "we can't".
Call "020 8888 9988" before booking and we'll tell you honestly what we can arrange. See also assisted and door-to-door travel.
Examples of journey types — not fixed routes, scheduled services or dedicated RushXO routes. Everything is quoted individually against its own date, time and addresses.
Whichever name you use. It doesn't have to match anything, and we won't ask why.
An address, a terminal, a hotel or a station, with any access notes.
Including a building name or entrance where a postcode alone won't do it.
And tell us if there's a time you need to arrive by, so we can work backwards.
Flight number and terminal, so the transfer follows your actual arrival where flight monitoring is available.
Full name, first name, surname, initials, booking reference, or no board with a phone call instead.
Both numbers, plus anything bulky, plus any accessibility requirements.
Where fixed pricing applies, the quoted fare is the fare you pay.
Written confirmation with your reference, plus driver and vehicle information ahead of travel where available.
Content team: verify every step against the live booking flow; remove rather than reword anything the system doesn't support — particularly steps 1 and 6, which are the page's central claims. This sequence deliberately differs from the other nine community pages; keep that difference.
Whichever one you use. It doesn't have to match anything and we don't ask why.
Full name, initials, a reference, or no board at all with a call instead.
None of it is needed to drive someone somewhere, so we don't collect it.
Published on this page, with a complaints route that reaches a person.
Arranged in advance and confirmed in writing before travel.
Agreed at booking, no surge pricing, no hidden costs.
TfL-licensed for applicable London journeys and DBS-checked where applicable.
Where available, transfers follow the actual arrival time.
Standard and executive, plus group and 8-seater vehicles where available.
Airports, hotels, stations, venues, ports and long-distance journeys.
What we don't claim: RushXO is not trans-owned, non-binary-owned or LGBTQ+-owned, holds no LGBTQ+ certification, is not an official partner or sponsor of any Pride organisation or event, and has no affiliation with any trans, non-binary or LGBTQ+ organisation. We claim no specialist expertise — what we've described is how our bookings work.
Whatever you choose. Full name, first name only, surname only, an initial and surname, your booking reference, or no board at all — in which case the driver waits at an agreed point and calls you when your flight lands. Set it when you book. You don't need to explain the choice and we won't ask.
No. A private hire booking name is an operational label — it identifies your booking and goes on the confirmation. It isn't connected to your flight reservation and we have no access to your travel documents.
Your airline's rules about ticket names and your documents are a separate matter entirely, and one we can't advise on. Ask your airline about that; ask us only about the car.
No. Neither is on our forms, because neither is needed to drive someone from one place to another. We ask for a pickup point, a destination, a date and time, passenger and luggage numbers, a contact number, a flight number for airport bookings, and a name for the booking. That's the whole list.
No. Private hire doesn't require you to prove who you are to get in the car. Your driver has a booking, not a checkpoint.
We'd rather point at specifics than adjectives. You choose the booking name and what appears on the board; we don't collect titles, gender or ID; drivers work to a written standard about how passengers are addressed; and there's a complaints route with a named person and a written outcome. That's what the claim is made of.
Correct them once and they're expected to accept it and move on — no explanation asked for, no discussion. If that doesn't happen, report it with your booking reference and it goes through our complaints process: an acknowledgement from a named person, an investigation, and a written outcome including any action taken.
If you'd rather a journey ended, call us and we'll arrange onward travel from a safe, public place.
No, and there's no field for it. Most people won't and that's entirely normal. If you'd like the driver to know, add it to the booking notes and it's passed on as an instruction.
Yes. Tell us and we'll update it. There's nothing to prove and no explanation needed. Past bookings are retained as required for accounting and licensing, but nothing about you is flagged or carried forward.
Yes, on exactly the same terms as anyone else — and since we don't ask about gender at any point, there's nothing to declare either way.
Yes. Book earlier than an ordinary weekend, since road closures and demand both rise around large events, and book the return at the same time. Agreeing a pickup point slightly away from the main frontage is usually faster than the entrance. RushXO isn't an official partner or sponsor of any Pride organisation.
Yes — guest arrivals, hotel-to-venue transfers with several vehicles, ceremony-to-reception legs with waiting, vehicles for the couple, and end-of-night returns. The name and board options apply to every vehicle in the booking. We provide transport only, not planning, catering or event management.
Where the option applies to your route and date, yes. Give us passenger and luggage counts — both matter. We don't operate minibuses or coaches; if a group genuinely needs one, we'll say so.
Yes, alongside standard options and subject to availability on your route and date. Ask us to quote both if you'd like to compare.
Where flight monitoring is available, give us the flight number and the transfer follows your actual landing time. Eligible airport bookings include up to 60 minutes of complimentary waiting, subject to our booking terms — useful when border control and baggage take longer than expected.
As early as your plans allow. Around large events availability tightens well before the date, particularly for late-evening returns. For an ordinary airport transfer a few days is usually fine, and it costs nothing to ask us to check a date.
RushXO is a UK private hire company providing pre-booked ground transportation. We are not trans-owned, non-binary-owned or LGBTQ+-owned, hold no LGBTQ+ certification, are not an official partner or sponsor of any Pride organisation or event, and have no affiliation with any trans, non-binary or LGBTQ+ organisation.
We provide no advice on travel documents, immigration, visas or border requirements, and no medical, legal or healthcare guidance of any kind. Airline and border requirements are set by those organisations and authorities, not by us.
The conduct standard set out on this page reflects our own written policy. Booking transport with RushXO covers the journeys you have arranged with us, and nothing more.
An airport transfer, a wedding weekend, an event, or a journey across the country. Send us the details, choose what goes on the board, and we'll quote it.
