Event day transfer tips
- The Royal Hospital Chelsea is in SW3 — road access is restricted during show hours. Private hire drops off on Royal Hospital Road or Tite Street
- Sloane Square is the nearest Underground station (7 min walk) — District and Circle lines connect from many London areas
- Private hire from west and south-west London is particularly convenient — Chelsea, Kensington, Fulham, and Battersea are all within 15 minutes
- Members' Day (Monday and Tuesday) is less congested than public days — but transfers are still recommended given SW3 parking restrictions
Return transfers: why pre-booking is essential
Post-event demand for taxis and rideshares at Royal Hospital Chelsea is enormous. Rideshare surge pricing after a large event can be 2–3x normal prices. Taxi queues can stretch 30–60 minutes. Pre-booked private hire removes both problems — your driver is waiting at the agreed time and place, at the price you confirmed before you left home.

⚠ Scams and fraud: protect yourself
🚨 Common scams targeting travellers in the UK
- Unlicensed taxi touts: At airports, stations, and stadium events, unlicensed drivers approach passengers offering transport. These vehicles are uninsured, unregulated, and unsafe. Never accept an offer from someone approaching you in a public area.
- Fake pre-booking websites: Fraudulent sites mimic legitimate private hire companies, take payment, and provide no driver. Always book directly via rushxo.co.uk — verify the URL before entering card details.
- WhatsApp transfer scams: Fraudsters send messages impersonating private hire companies offering 'last minute' deals. Your legitimate booking arrives by email confirmation first — we do not cold-contact passengers.
- Rideshare surge exploitation: At airports and events, some drivers deliberately wait for surge pricing before accepting rides. Pre-booked fixed-price transfers have no surge pricing — what you see at booking is what you pay.
- Metered taxi overcharging: Metered taxis are legitimate, but drivers can take longer routes. A pre-booked fixed price removes any incentive for a longer route.
- Payment on arrival fraud: Legitimate private hire companies allow payment via the booking platform. Drivers who insist on cash only before departure should be treated with caution.

Where to buy tickets – official and cheap
Buy from the box office first: the venue box office – the venue’s own site or its named ticket partner (Ticketmaster, AXS, See Tickets, Dice or Eventim) is the only place the price is the real price and the ticket is guaranteed.
Cheaper, fair-price options:
- TKTS booth, Leicester Square – same-day and up-to-a-week-ahead seats at up to half price, run by the theatres themselves
- TodayTix Rush & Lottery – £15–£30 same-day seats released at 10am on the app
- day seats and standing: the Globe has £5 standing tickets, the National Theatre releases Friday Rush seats at 1pm, and most West End box offices sell a few front-row day seats in person from 10am
- Citizens Advice: your rights when buying tickets – pay by card, never bank transfer, and check the seller is an official partner before paying more than face value
Tickets sorted? Our fixed fare covers the car, not per person, and the driver waits where the venue lets us after the show – so a group of four usually pays less than the train plus a late-night surge-priced app ride.
