If London Transport Was a Relationship
We’ve all been in complicated relationships. But some are more complicated than others.
London has plenty of ways to get from A to B. Most of them come with baggage. 💔
So we rated the city’s most complicated relationships — red flags and all.
The red flags
The Tube
Status: It’s complicated“I’ll get you there.”
Also the Tube:
“Signal failure.”
“Minor delays.”
“Severe delays.”
“Please leave the station.”
🚩 It’s complicated.
The Bus
Status: Hard to get“I’ll be there soon.”
The Bus:
“Due in 2 minutes.”
3 minutes later…
“Due in 14 minutes.”
14 minutes later…
“Cancelled.”
🚩 You deserve better communication.
Driving yourself
Status: Emotional baggage“I’ll pick you up.”
Also you:
“Where can I park?”
“Is this road one-way?”
“Why is there a bus lane?”
“Was that a camera?”
“WHERE DID I PARK?”
🚩 Too much emotional baggage.
Surge pricing
Status: We need to talk“It’s only a short journey.”
The price:
£42.
You:
“For 12 minutes?”
The app:
“Prices are higher due to demand.”
🚩 We need to talk.
And then there’s RushXO 💚
Finally… a healthy relationship.
RushXOReplies fast
You: “I’ll pick you up at 8.”
RushXO: “Absolutely.”
You: “Where are we going?”
RushXO: “We’ve got it.”
You: “How much?”
RushXO: “Fixed fare.”
You: “Who’s driving?”
RushXO: “Professional driver.”
You: “What time?”
RushXO: “Whenever you need us.”
- No mixed signals.
- No disappearing acts.
- No surprise pricing.
- No “where are you?” texts.
Just a comfortable journey from A to B.

Tube, bus, car or private hire: which is right, and when?
To be fair to our exes: for a quick solo hop across town in the middle of the day, the Tube and the bus are hard to beat on price. But some journeys need something more dependable than “minor delays” — especially when there’s a date, a flight or a suitcase involved.

And the airport run?
The Heathrow Express
Charming and quick, but it costs £26 each on the day and drops you at Paddington, not at your door.
The Piccadilly line
Cheap and loyal, but it is 50–60 minutes standing next to your suitcase.
The taxi rank
You do not find out what it costs until it is over.
The pre-booked car
Waits in arrivals with your name, tracks your flight and tells you the price up front: Heathrow to central London from £85 per car. Heathrow transfers · all London airports
Frequently asked questions
What is surge pricing?
Surge (or dynamic) pricing is when a ride-hailing app raises its prices at busy times, such as rush hour, bad weather or late on a Friday night. RushXO doesn’t use surge pricing: your fare is fixed when you book.
Does the Tube run all night in London?
Only partly. The Night Tube runs on Friday and Saturday nights on selected lines, and many night bus routes run through the night. For other late journeys, a pre-booked private hire car is the door-to-door option.
Is a private hire car cheaper than the Tube?
For one person on a short daytime trip, public transport is usually cheaper. A private hire car makes more sense for door-to-door journeys, late nights, airport runs with luggage, or groups, because RushXO prices per car rather than per seat.
Can I book RushXO in advance for a specific time?
Yes. Choose your pickup time when you book online, and you’ll receive your confirmation by email and WhatsApp.
Is RushXO available 24/7?
Yes. Bookings and journeys are available 24/7, with no night rate — the fixed fare at 3am is the same as at 3pm.
What is the easiest way from Heathrow to central London?
For one person with light luggage, the Elizabeth line or the Heathrow Express. With luggage, children or a group, a pre-booked car is door to door: from £85 per car to central London, with the driver waiting in arrivals.
