North on the M23, then the A23 through Purley, Streatham and Brixton toward Westminster and the West End — with the A24 and A3 approaches as live alternatives, and the Blackwall route for Canary Wharf and the City's east side. 60–75 minutes off-peak, longer in weekday peaks, frequently under an hour late at night when most airport arrivals actually need it.
And the Gatwick Express? The straight answer: solo with a cabin bag heading near Victoria, take the train — it's fast, frequent, and to that one station it wins. The family version reads differently. Tickets multiply by every traveller, and Victoria is where the Express's job ends and yours begins: the station-to-hotel leg with cases, a pram and jet-lagged children, by tube stairs or a second cab whose meter is its own adventure.
