Airline engineering is a network problem

An airline's engineering operation is not one site with one store. It is a base, several outstations, a set of contracted line maintenance providers, an inventory spread across all of them, and a pool of rotables that has to keep circulating.

Working to the night maintenance pattern

Airline engineering runs on a rhythm that most transport providers are simply not awake for.

Tell dispatch the shift, not the date. "On site before the 05:30 start" is a plan. "Tomorrow morning" leaves the most important variable undefined.

Where transport meets the deferral decision

This is the part of airline engineering that outsiders miss. Not every defect grounds an aircraft immediately — many can be deferred under the minimum equipment list for a defined period. But the clock starts running.

RushXO does not advertise airside access, formal aviation security accreditation such as Known Consignor or RA3, temperature-controlled or GDP-certified transport, certified ESD handling facilities, or a guaranteed nationwide response time. We deliver to the facility and hand over to your nominated contact. If a movement requires accreditation we do not hold, we will say so on the call rather than at a gate.

Frequently asked questions

Do you handle station-to-station movements?

Yes, and for airline engineering this is usually the bulk of the work. A unit held at one station and needed at another is moved directly in a dedicated vehicle, without going through a depot or being consolidated with other freight.

Can you match our night maintenance pattern?

Yes. Dispatch is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Tell us the shift the part must make — for example on site before an 05:30 start — and we work the collection and the run backwards from it.

Can you deliver a unit and collect a core on the same run?

Yes. The driver delivers the serviceable unit, collects the removed one and drives it back. One movement rather than two consignments, which also keeps the rotable pool circulating.

How quickly can you collect?

A vehicle is assigned as soon as the job is confirmed. Timing depends on where the unit is and the hour, so instead of a blanket figure we give you a realistic assessment on the first call — useful when the engineering decision depends on it. Phone 020 8888 9988.

Do you collect from cargo terminals?

Yes, once your freight has been released by the handling agent. Bear in mind that release depends on clearance and settled charges rather than on how quickly the driver arrives. We are not a customs broker and do not arrange clearance.

Will units stay in our packaging?

Yes. Components travel in the protective and anti-static packaging your stores applied, in the orientation specified. We do not unpack or repack.

Do you hold Known Consignor or RA3 accreditation?

No, and we do not advertise it. We provide road transport between facilities and hand over to your nominated contact. If a movement requires accreditation we do not hold, we will tell you on the call.

Can you set up standing arrangements for regular routes?

Yes. Where the same lanes recur, agreed pricing and invoice accounts can be put in place. Speak to dispatch about your stations, typical units and volumes.
