Accessible airport transfers, properly planned

Our wheelchair accessible vehicles take a passenger travelling in their chair via a rear ramp or lift, with the chair secured and a seat belt fitted. Passengers who transfer to a seat can choose a WAV or an ordinary car with the folded chair in the boot. Drivers are trained in securing wheelchairs and in assisting passengers with reduced mobility; tell us what help you need at booking and the driver will know before arrival.

At the airport

For departures we drop at the accessible drop-off point closest to the assistance desk of your terminal and, if you wish, the driver accompanies you to the desk. For arrivals we coordinate with the airport assistance service: the driver waits in arrivals with a name board and takes over from the assistance team. Every UK airport is covered, including Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton, London City, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh.

Booking and price

The fare is fixed and is the same as for a standard vehicle on the same route; we do not charge more for accessibility. Book at least a day ahead where you can, because WAVs are allocated in booking order. Carers and companions travel in the same vehicle at no extra cost, and we can add a second vehicle for luggage or family members.

Yes, in a ride-in WAV with the chair secured and a seat belt fitted. Please tell us the chair type and dimensions when booking.

Will the driver help with luggage and the assistance desk?

Yes. The driver helps with bags and can accompany you to the terminal assistance desk.

How much notice do you need?

Same-day is sometimes possible; booking a day or more ahead guarantees the vehicle.
