Patient transport by private car: appointments, treatment cycles and discharges

For patients who can travel seated in a normal car, Rushxo offers a calmer and more predictable alternative to a street taxi: a pre-booked driver, a fixed fare agreed in advance, and a vehicle chosen for easy access. Common bookings are radiotherapy and chemotherapy cycles at the Royal Marsden, UCLH and Guy's, dialysis sessions, eye-clinic appointments where the patient cannot drive home, and discharges from hospital to home or a care home.

Tell us at booking if the passenger needs extra time, uses a walking frame or wheelchair, or is travelling after sedation; the driver is briefed and waits as long as needed at pickup without a waiting charge. For treatment cycles we can keep the same driver on the same day each week, and family members can be sent the driver's details and live location each time.

Fares are fixed, include parking and the hospital drop-off charge where one applies, and can be invoiced monthly to a family, care home or clinic account. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup means a moved appointment costs nothing.
