Step 1: Assess the Situation

How long is the delay? Check airline updates. Is flight still departing today or rebooked for tomorrow?

Impact on schedule: Will you still reach your destination at reasonable time? If not, you need backup transport.

Step 2: Explore Airline Options

Compensation: EU261 (if applicable): Delays 3+ hours entitle you to compensation (€250–600 depending on flight distance)

Rebooking: Airline may rebook on alternative flight/date

Hotel accommodation: Airline may cover overnight accommodation if delay extends past evening

Step 3: Arrange Alternative Transport (If Needed)

Option A: Wait for rebooking flight (if reasonable ETA)

Option B: Transport today (if delay won't clear, use ground transport instead)

Option C: Hybrid (Transport to nearby destination, then fly next leg)

Step 4: Call Rushxo

Airline Compensation & Rights

EU261 Regulation (If Applicable)

You may be entitled to compensation if:

• Flight delayed 3+ hours at destination (EU airport departure or EU airline)
• Flight cancelled (with less than 14 days notice)
• You were denied boarding

Compensation amount:

• €250 for flights up to 1,500 km
• €400 for intra-EU flights 1,500–3,500 km
• €600 for flights 3,500+ km

Airline Obligations

During delay, airline must provide:

• Meals & refreshments (if delay exceeds 2 hours)
• Hotel accommodation (if overnight needed)
• Transport to/from hotel
• Communication access (phone calls, emails)

When to Choose Ground Transport Over Waiting

Choose ground transport if:

• Delay exceeds 4–6 hours
• Rebooking uncertain or days away

Choose to wait if:

• Delay is minor (1–2 hours)
• Flight still departs same day at reasonable time
• Destination is far away (6+ hours drive)
• Airline providing meals/accommodation anyway
